Yesterday I was managing a very busy and understaffed Burger King and trying to get through the day only to find out that someone decided to take a crap on the bathroom floor and lock the only stall in the men’s room. I had to army crawl under the door to unlock it and clean up the mess. Our booth seats are now being vandalized with permanent marker and it can’t get removed no matter what we use. We don’t have the budget to replace it either. There’s words scratched into the windows and doors too. We don’t have enough people to cover kitchen and register let alone have people to send out to monitor what’s happening in lobby and bathrooms. Our equipment keeps breaking, air conditioning goes in and out, labour budget keeps getting lowered by upper management, and customers have become more rude and impatient. Tourist season is coming which makes everything worse. Hopefully my boss is able to find a replacement for me when I leave for college in the fall because I’m the only closer and shift lead right now.

We all know Hearthstone is never to be always taken seriously. While we've had serious expansions like March of the Lich King and Dragons' Descent, we've also had silly ones like Kobolds and Catacombs and Festival of Legends. This one is of the latter, a humorous work-themed expansion featuring the recurring WOW enemy group, the Venture Company.
Intro: The Venture Company is a business cartel in WOW that often presents itself as a minor antagonist, often stripping the lands of resources and performing acts of greed and such. So I thought of doing an office-themed expansion with them would be hilareous. Now before you dismiss the theme of it being office humor, let's not forget the humor of Dilbert and shows like the Office (both the British and the American versions). Plus, there's plenty of oppurtunities to include the wacky and rather violent side of Hearthstone.
New Term/Mechanic: Promotion. Since the theme of this expansion is "corporate", naturally a goal of an employee (AKA your minion) is to get promoted to a new monster for prestige, power, and rewards. Promotion minions have special conditions, similar to quests, that must fufilled before they can upgrade to a stronger form. But unlike quests, you can halt them by removing the minion naturally.
Let me give you an example:
Delivery Whisp: 1 Mana Druid minion. 1/1. Gain a random 1-mana druid spell at the beginning of each turn. Promotion: Refresh 3 empty mana crystals. Becomes Traveling Treant. Artwork is a whisp carrying a letter in its mouth.
Traveling Treant. 3-Mana druid minion. 3/3. Gain a random 3-mana druid spell card at the beginning of each turn. Promotion. Refresh 5 empty crystals. Becomes Ancient of Ordering. Artwork is a treant carrying a mail sack and wearing a cap.
Ancient of Ordering. 5-mana druid minion. 5/5. Gain a random 5-7 mana druid spell card at the beginning of each turn. Cost is lowered by 2 this turn. Artwork is an ancient in a suit, sitting at a desk, while talking on a crystal ball like its a phone, while night elf assistant brings him coffee.
So basically, by fufilling special quest-like conditions, you can get stronger monsters. Note, when a monster is promoted, they're counted as freshly summoned, so they can not attack the same turn they transform. But, you can attack with said minion before the promotion and then promote them.
I'm still thinking themes if there should be any for the classes, but I've come to the idea that half the legendaries should be members of Venture Corp's board of directors. Here's some ideas I had:
1: Neutral. Mogul Razdunk (He was the president until you kill him in the MOTHERLODE!!! dungeon of Battle for Azeroth).
2: Druid. Oakland, Chairman of the Board. He'd be a treant ancient...get the pun?
3: Paladin. Mr. Hammerton, Director of Displine. A dwarf paladin, whose artwork would be him sitting with a huge hammer freshly smashed on his desk.
Some card ideas I thought of, though not all with artwork and/or effects include:
1: Overtime. Mage card. Artwork is a mage groaning as a bronze whelpling resets the clock with magic. Maybe something like getting extra mana but with a cost next turn? (Like start with a lower number; not as an overload, but more like you're worn out from last turn?)
2: Zoological Meeting. Hunter card. Artwork is Rexxar in a suit (or any other hunter) having a conference meeting, but all the employees are various animals sitting around a table. Like a nightsaber on a chair, a bear (misha?) on the opposite end, a bat monster hanging from the ceiling, a crocodile sticking its head out from under the table, etc? Maybe it could be something like drawing various beasts but only of different mana costs?
3: Downsizing. Paladin spell. A giant (sea, rock, etc) gulping as he's stands shrunken to the giant-sized hammer of Mr. Hammerton. Maybe something that drops stats or moves the minion back into the deck?
4: YOU'RE FIRED! Mage, warlock, or shaman card. (Whatever fits best). A fleeing goblin with his rear end on fire, as fire blasts are being thrown at him from someone off-panel. Maybe something about destroying a minion but with some cost or twist?
5: Paycheck Advance. Rogue spell. A hungry-looking rogue character holding a paycheck, a bubble coming from their stomach indicating groaning. I was thinking this card could be an extra draw or something, but at the cost of skipping your draw phase next turn.
So let me know your thoughts and any ideas you guys have yourself? And like my other ideas, feel free to do any art or card ideas of your own.

Murder Mystery 2 - Watched 4/8
My Tagline: A forgettable sequel to a forgettable original film
Synopsis from Letterboxd: After starting their own detective agency, Nick and Audrey Spitz land a career-making case when their billionaire pal is kidnapped from his wedding.
Thoughts: Adam Sandler, the king of Netlfix's dumb comedies, has come out with another one, this time a sequel. Say what you want about the Sandman, he does not often do sequels. When he makes a stinker comedy, it's an original stinker comedy. Murder Mystery was the highest rated and most watch of the Sandler Netflix comedies so of all the films I'm glad this was the sequel, but I wish he had made a sequel to one of his better comedies. But maybe we shouldn't tarnish his older films that actually hold up.
This film is forgettable. The orginal movie was superior, it was more about a murder mystery. And it had more heart between the leads, Aniston and Sandler. This one felt lazier. There are some funny parts, the best being Jillian Bell's character at the end. There is a meeting on a rooftop and suddenly Bell appears confessing a scheme of meeting her long lost lover after 10 years. It's random but that adds to the comedy of it. that scene added a half star to this rating alone. Overall I'd skip this one, like most of the Sandler Netflix comedies.

My Tagline: The film that killed Sandler's theater career.
Synopsis from Letterboxd: Video game experts are recruited by the military to fight 1980s-era video game characters who’ve attacked New York.
Thoughts: This film should have been amazing. Directed by Chris Columbus, from Home Alone and Harry Potter fame, the screenplay was on Hollywood's best available screenplay list for years, and Sony giving it a huge budget for special effects. Where could this go wrong? Starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James.... oof.
The Sandler style jokes are terrible in this film. He calls an old guy Gandalf.... get it? There is a ton of plot holes as well that I feel like could not have existed in the original script and it happened during the rewrite process. The characters are all one-note and most of the videogames mentioned just feel like references, not much else. Unless you are with a group of friends and you just want at a bad movie, skip this one.

Did The Moonshadow Elves not hear about what happened at the end of season 3. With The Egg being alive, Viren's invasion, The human princes and literally everything that happened that should be BIG NEWS throughout Xadia. If they knew this which they most likely did I'm sure Rayla's name would've been brought up a lot. After hearing how she was the one who made the decision to not kill The princes and take The Egg back to Zubeia for peace. Rayla was The One to kill Lord Viren himself (the guy who stole The Egg, plotted with Aaravos, crafted the weapon to kill Avizandum and destroyed Lux Aurea and murdered hundreds of elves etc). But who stopped him from killing The Dragon Prince and Zubeia acting as The Last Dragonguard and restoring her parents honor....RAYLA. All these heroic acts and she's still a ghost. The Moonshadow Elves know all this but still banish her of off speculation that she ran. Rayla was the first Assassin to even enter the castle and attempt to kill Ezran and Harrow if it wasn't for The Egg, she was dedicated and tried to accomplish her mission. But if she didn't do that and sat like Runaan told her to she'd still be a ghost, since the assassins lost anyways and if Rayla's still alive she "abandoned her mission" by living. Almost as if they're meant to die in the first place.
I just don't understand why it isn't undone seeing as she is a FUCKING WAR HERO. Makes me feel really bad for Rayla not getting accepted into her home after doing her best something that no one else in The Silvergrove can do. Even Runaan admits that she is the strongest of the assassins, speaking of Runaan. I suppose he'd be considered a war hero by The Silvergrove for having a good reputation and being the one to kill King Harrow. If he is freed he can use his authority to bring Rayla and her parents back home. Which we might see a little further into the future maybe around Season 6

I have now completed the Crown of the Old Iron King and Crown of the Ivory King dlc. These two have been the most fantastic boss fights in the game imo. I didn’t like some of the levels, but the bosses were just beautiful. The entirety of the bosses in iron king dlc were so hard, it was a pleasure to learn Fume Knight and Sir Alonne’s move set in order to beat them.
I beat Ivory King in the old Chaos first try, but man, he was a beautiful fight! I should’ve done his fight before iron king dlc, because I saw his moves a mile away after going through hell fighting Sir Alonne. Regardless of how easy I found him, I still absolutely loved his design and moves.
What are your thoughts on the dlc? I’m a new player so I’m sorry if this has been asked frequently over the years but I’d love to hear your opinions!

How my arrangement works

Hi guys, I no longer nanny but I keep in good contact with the previous families I nanny with. One of them wants me to come with them on their annual vacation. They want to know what I would charge as a flat rate. They cover flight and food and it sounds like it’ll be a very relaxed job. Mainly just waking G4 up in the morning and getting her ready for the day by 11am. Then potentially watching her for a few date nights. They welcomed me to come along the holiday activities they’re doing but also acknowledged that I would want to venture out on my own. No additional responsibilities such as food prep or cleaning as they will do all of that. The vacation would be a total of 12 days.
A few extra things I feel I should add, I live in a completely different state now. TLDR; Luffy's dream is creating a Pirate Kingdom, which is the same goal of the Ancient Kingdom and the People of D.
Just a (I hope) short theory about what Luffy's dream could be and why it connects the One Piece story altogether. I'll try to be brief and explain as clearly as I can, with reference images. Without further ado, let's start.
Luffy’s Dream and his significance for the entire story
The first time we hear about Luffy’s dream is in Marineford, when Ace is on the verge of death and is speaking his last words to his little brother. Then we jump into Luffy’s childhood flashback (chapter 585) and we have an hunch of what it could be. But most of all we get to see Ace and Sabo’s reactions to it.

At this point we as readers understand that it seems to be something weird, childish and almost impossible to achieve. Now let’s move to Chapter 966, during the fateful meeting between the man who will be known as the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and Kozuki Oden. In this istance, Roger reveals his dream to Oden and Whitebeard, just like Luffy did to Ace and Sabo. But this time pay attention on how Roger’s full statement is presented.

Roger talks about reaching the very last island, becoming the greatest pirate crew in the world and AFTER THAT Roger talks about carrying out his dream. To me, this means that you need to be the Pirate King to achieve this dream, although Roger would be called like that only after he finds the treasure. Becoming the greatest pirate crew pretty much carries the same meaning.
Let’s stay on the same track and jump forward to Chapter 1060, when Luffy reveals his dream to his crew for the very first time.

The crew obviously looks amazed and somehow amused, but what is of the most importance is following the trail left by Roger’s words. Luffy states that he will have a shot on achieving his dream IF he BECOMES Pirate King.
Not long after that, Franky confirms that Luffy needs to be Pirate King to make his dream possible.
So now we have all the info we needed to try to figure out what Luffy’s dream could be. The key of it all lies in the title of Pirate King. And what would a Pirate King be without a Pirate Kingdom? That’s it. Luffy’s dream is creating a Pirate Kingdom. It may sound pretty straightforward but it makes so much sense for the entire story. Let me explain!
What is a Pirate to Luffy

We know from page one that Shanks and his crew inspired Luffy to be a pirate. But what of course inspired Luffy the most is the fact that Pirates have freedom!

He then proceeds on remarking that concept to Rayleigh, when asked.
So, knowing all this, we can assume that Luffy’s Pirate Kingdom is not your average Kingdom, but one in which the iron rule is freedom, since a Pirate, according to Luffy, is a being who is completely free. In his childish mind, he may expect that all the “citizens” of this Kingdom will become pirates and chase the freedom. After all, the D. people, whose letter Luffy carries, belong to freedom themselves.
Blackbeard’s dream
Speaking of D., there’s one individual whose dream was revealed to us recently and is similar, if not the same, of Luffy’s one, although the meanings are completely different from one another.

We learn that Blackbeard’s dream is to make Pirate Island a full-fledged nation, thus creating a Pirate Kingdom. Sounds familiar? While most people at this point would discard this theory since Blackbeard’s idea is the same of the well concealed dream of Luffy, I think that the fact that both have almost the same idea should strengthen the theory.

They have the same dream, they just look at the opposite side of the coin. Just like the both of them ate the very same cherry pie back in Mock Town but their reaction to its taste was completely the opposite. Blackbeard, having most likely inherited Rocks’ will, is chasing the goal of becoming the King of the World, and the first step is making Pirate Island a nation affiliated with the government and creating the Blackbeard Kingdom. Luffy, on the other hand, will create a Pirate Kingdom which will involve the entire world and where the absolute ruler is freedom itself.
The Ancient Kingdom
It is indeed time to tie the Ancient Kingdom and Joyboy himself to the theory.

The immense kingdom which existed in the past could very well be a Kingdom which comprehends the whole world united under the same flag, pretty much like what Luffy in my opinion intends to do: they’re the same Pirate Kingdom! Of course, the top of the world, the absolute rulers aka the World Government finds the very existence of a Pirate Kingdom who chases freedom to be very threatening to the status quo. Eventually, the will of Joyboy would be inherited by Roger first and then Luffy. Then Clover also states that, while the nature of the threat that the Ancient Kingdom poses is still unknown, the key lies in the name of the Kingdom itself. But what could it be?
The Will of D.
In the latest chapter, we learn a lot of things. Nefeltari Lili’s blunder and her real name, Nefeltari D. Lili. D., the same letter which Imu indeed confirms to be carried by his/her ancient enemies. The most important piece of information related to this theory lies in the letter left by Lili to future Arabasta’s rulers. We can hear Cobra speaking few words of that very letter, although they carry the utmost importance.

Now obviously, every pirate crew needs its flag, which would eventually be the same of the Kingdom. And what could it be?

The Binks Sake
What I think was Joyboy’s purpose is delivering the Binks’ Sake to all the Pirate Kingdom, just like the song states, thus making everyone brothers. But at some point, he was forced to interrupt this mission, thus leaving it all in one place. Sounds familiar? That very place is Laugh Tale, and the treasure itself could be Binks Sake. Why the treasure would be sake of all things. Let’s head back to chapter 585, which at this point I think is one, if not the most important of the entire series.

Right after mentioning Luffy’s mysterious dream, the next page is the one above, the one in which the three kids exchange the Sake cups and officially become brothers. In short, Chapter 585 might be telling us that Luffy’s dream is to create a Pirate Kingdom, thus using the Treasure to exchange Sake cups with every pirate, or “citizen” of the Kingdom, making everyone brother. Just like Joyboy was supposed to do but couldn’t, waiting for Luffy to do it in his place. Furthermore…

This may be the biggest hunch, but the key could lie in the titles of chapter 999 and 1000. It doesn’t seem right to me that every time a new chapter goes out we get pretty much straightforward titles that anticipate what is supposed to happen in the same chapter. EXCEPT for this two chapters in particular. I believe this to be an hidden message of what the treasure is. It is to be read as a sentence. It’s like Joyboy speaking: “The sake I brewed to drink with you, Straw Hat Luffy.”
Conclusion

Major spoilers for HBOs "Succession", obviously. Also if you have any interest in this show, like any at all, please don't read this rant, it will definitely ruin part of the experience for you. Also, this should be fairly obvious based on the overwhelmingly positive reception its received both my critics and audiences, this is a really good fucking show, with some of the best acting, dialogue and music (holy shit the music) I've ever seen on television. It is a family drama following 3 children battling for control of their aging fathers media conglomerate (with the crown jewel being the equivalent of fox news), with the central question the series posses being who will succeed the fathefounder, and everyone involved happens to be a raging narcissist.
That being said Succession seems to have suffered a fate most IPs do when they become popular; fan discourse surrounding it devolves into unfunny memes, tribalistic stan wars, and a complete misunderstanding the story and characters and the themes they are communicating, with the succession subreddit sorta being a perfect storm for all of this nonsense. I'm really not trying to sound pretentious here or flex my flawless media literacy it whatever, but I seriously don't understand how one can watch 4 seasons of this show and think a Roy kid was gonna win the company in the end.
None of the three main kids, who the story is largely told from the perspective of, are component, or in the words of their father, "serious" people and the show makes this obvious. Kendall, the eldest boy (sorry Connor you're irrelevant), has worked at the company and at the beginning of the series is seemingly positioned as the obvious choice to succeed his father, but he suffers from addiction issues and lacks the sense of business initiative or ruthlessness his father wants. The second boy, Roman, who was the biggest victim of the fathers abusive tendencies, is basically a manchild, prone to emotional outbursts, a sexual deviant, and basically needs to be ordered around, making him the most loyal to the father but also his least favourite, and is never really taken seriously as a legitimate successor by anyone.
Finally there is Shiv, the daughter, and oh boy where to even start here. The discourse surrounding this character could frankly get a rant of its own, but the jist of it is Shiv laughs at the common trope in modern media of the women always being the smartest in the room. While she is seemingly more articulate and book smart than her brothers, she is comically entitled, inexperienced and power hungry, but completely overestimates her own intelligence time after time that more or less leads to her taking L after L after L, humiliation after humiliation and you can't even feel bad because the character is given almost no redeeming qualities. Despite having no experience at the company or in the business world, she feels entitled to be CEO of one of Americas largest corporations and even rejects her fathers proposal of a 3-5 year fast track working in the company to prepare her for the role. She decries misogyny and the corporations enabling of reactionary right wing politics, but intimidates sexual assault victims, tries to get another women fired for being sexually harassed by her brother (Roman), and immediately U-turns on her opposition to a pseudo-fascist president the moment she realizes it could help her gain power in the company. She marries Tom, a man she considers weak and servile for the purpose of controlling him, cheating on him, proposing an open relationship the night after they get married, yet still ends up getting fucked over by him multiple times. She has no values, fails at everything, is cruel, smug and condescending to everyone around her (and the actress absolutely nails it!), so no, this absolutely is not another Skylar White situation, lol.
Oh and guess who does end up being CEO in the end? Tom, though admittedly he is more or less a puppet/pain sponge to the Swedish Techbro who ends up buying out the company. Thats the thing cool thing about succession, the concepts of "winning and losing" are hysterically warped. The kids "lose" while gaining a billion dollar cashout, because they were so comically rich to begin with money didn't even matter. There's even fourth kid who doesn't involve himself in the company at all who pretty much just lives a life of leisure and luxury off the money he was born into without bothering with work at all. The company mattered to them because it meant succeeding their father, symbolic of his favouritism, which they all desperately wanted. The Dad (Logan) however, a raging abusive narcissist himself, probably the morally most despicable character in the series even, was always disappointed with his children, jealous of them even for the comfortable upbringing he provided them with compared to one of hardship and suffering he experienced, and thus encouraged them to backstab and compete with each other in hopes they'd finally become someone he was proud of. Logan dies early into season 4, simply succumbing to his age and fragility on a plane, and even catches an L from beyond the grave as his kids end up losing ATN (fox news equivalent) to the swedish tech bro (which was not part of the original acquisition detail Logan had agreed to) and thus the propaganda arm of the American right is effectively controlled by a foreigner.
The series ends with the three kids making one final play to stop the company being sold to the tech bro in the shareholder board meeting, of which they are all members of. Shiv was originally working with the Tech Bro under the faulty assumption that he would make her the puppet CEO, but like everyone else he doesn't take her seriously and plays her like a fiddle. When she finds out about this the night before the acquisition is to be voted on, she defects to her brothers side and they all agree to make Kendall CEO. During the shareholder meeting however, Shiv becomes the tie breaking vote and gets cold feet, triggered by Kendall already acting like a arrogant, unprofessional frat guy, resulting in an absolutely hysterical sequence where the siblings argue and even fight like literal children in front of the entire company and ends with Shiv signing over the control of the company to the TechBro and Tom being named as the new CEO. Roman seems to have the "happiest" ending of the three, seemingly finally gaining clarity to how pointless this all was. Shiv (who is pregnant with Toms child), returns to his side in a nasty role reversal of the power dynamics of their relationship, with the implication being she'll end up a housewife/mother, a seemingly brutal fate to a women of her ambition. Kendall gets easily the most crushing blow, estranged from his family, betrayed by his siblings, his only company being a security guard who watches him to ensure he doesn't commit suicide. Some people loved this ending, some people hated it, but a concerning amount of people either didn't seem to coming or "doesn't think it makes sense". I really question if these people were watching the same show for the past 5 years because this was a predictable, heavily forshadowed conclusion.
Succession is heavily inspired by Shakespeares King Lear, a story in which 3 children fight (and eventually die) for control of their aging fathers kingdom. There are multiple cases of direct dialogue references to quotes from this play in the show, but even if you missed this, the entire show constantly and repeatedly hammers home the fact that the 3 main characters are incompetent nepobabies, with their flaws being explicitly spelled out numerous times, often by their own father or even each other. Yet a good portion of the audience seemed to think or hope that this story was going to end with one of siblings (usually Kendall or Roman, most people didn't seem to take Shiv seriously) finally becoming the "killer" their father wanted and taking over the company, and of course this people were really mad when this didn't happen. There were numerous instances throughout the show of characters making dumb mistakes which the audience then interpreted as moments of triumph, like when Roman ends up getting ATN included as part of the tech bros acquisition of the company. Hell the night before the acquisition vote the kids are fucking around acting like children as if they have already won, just further demonstrating how immature and unserious they are. Really a lot of discourse surrounding the show devolved into "who is worse" or "who deserves it more" kinda like a game of thrones (with the question of "who wins the throne" also not being the point of the book series at least, the dumb hack writers decided to go in that direction in the end), with endless discourse arguing whether Shiv was a worse person than Kendall or not, or if Roman secretly was a business bro god who was gonna rise from his fathers shadow or whatever, and little discussion of the actual themes of the show regarding the impacts of generational wealth and the cycle of abuse. I originally started using reddit as a way to find communities revolving around media I had consumed and how other people had interpreted this content, but it seems that this sorta discourse is increasingly polluted by toxic stan culture, shitty memes, and people looking to use media as an excuse to argue about culture war shit.
Tl:Dr: The succession fanbase are not serious people

First off let me start off with we call each other dumb all the time because we both are lol no one is upset but now we need Reddits opinion. I am watching black clover and my wife compares it to Harry PotteNaruto mix…. My opinion she’s wrong lol but her opinion I’m wrong.
I began showing her more episodes, certain fights and she started to like it more still claiming it’s just a magic version of Naruto (still don’t agree but just my opinion). She saw a background character that was tall, old, with long white beard and a robe with pointy hat, she said “see why would they make him look like dumbledoor (probably spelled that wrong but not the point).
I had to pause and look at it to explain that Harry Potter didn’t create that representation of old wizards it’s always been around, I used Merlin as an example and she didn’t know who he was. I specified more but adding Arthur and the knights of the round table, Excalibur, just saying those keys words thinking she’d know what I was saying.
I may be in the wrong for that but I assumed that everyone knew the tale of King Arthur and the knights of the round table. Asked if she ever saw sword in the stone, she said no and she saw the look of confusion on my face, proceeded to compare her not knowing that to me not knowing certain musicians or certain songs (she’s a musician too btw so she already has a vast knowledge of songs like almost all musicians do). I told her it’s not the same, because I’m honestly not a huge music guy (I enjoy listening to music but I’m not as passionate about it as I am with other thing).

I am so sickened about tipping culture in the US. The passive-aggresiveness has had so much effect on you guys, you should end this bullshit. You have been blatantly gaslighted into this by restaurants and waiters, and it pisses me off to no end.
Where I live, no tip is needed or expected. I am not going to discuss here whether I tip or not. I am not discussing here why is the system like this in the US.
Please drop me some tips: I am going to NY in about a week, and I plan to leave 0 tip everywhere, without submitting to questions about it. Just: "no tip, thanks. Yes, the food and service was great."
What should I expect? Will I get gaslighted to tip 25% on my 25 dollars burger? Will I get punched in the face? What actually happens?
