2023.06.04 09:56 robpeake28 daughter had a car accident, both parties agreed to go 50/50 at the scene now other party saying she is at fault.
3 weeks ago, my daughter was in a car park, she pulled out of her space (forward facing) and was going towards the exit, she noticed a car had its reverse lights and was easy out of the space, she stopped as she thought they might not have seen her, and they reversed out and straight into her car.
There is a very little fracture line on her car, the other car has a bigger fracture (from the pictures i sent to bodyshops they have all said it looks like previous repaifiller that has broken)
daughter is 21, first accident the other car was a older guy, she said he was nice and basically said as she had stopped and was in his blind side then they would have to pay excess and NCB.
I was out of the country so she agreed that both would go to bodyshops and split the total cost 50/50 for both cars. Over the last 3 weeks they have sent some text messages back and forth one she states i will pay for yours first then pay for hers, I just said it reads as if you will pay all for his damage ie, you have accepted blame, but she mean't she will pay for his damage 50% and she will fix her car when she saves up the money.
This was 3 weeks ago and he has text her and said he has spoken to a family friend and they have advised him to go through insurance as its possible that there is further damage underneath the bumper.
I got home friday, and we haven't informed the insurance or the police. Hard lesson for her but will they invalidate her insurance now because she hasn't informed them?
I'm going to sit with her today, and go through it online, she did luckily take pictures of the cars in the car park and the damage and she doesn't believe he did or never even see him use his phone.

2023.06.04 09:55 Rowballin Aftermarket fog lights/DRL
So I went to go install the new lights I got for my car, but after looking at all the wires and the big ass switch button that probably won't fit in the dash, I kinda gave up cuz I have no idea what to do lol. I've watched a couple videos, but I feel like there's still some info missing.
Is there a good video or manual somewhere for installation or should I just take it somewhere to get it installed? I'm not sure how to splice the wires and what not, I figured it was plug and play... Obviously I was wrong, this is all still pretty new to me lol. I did install my new exhaust parts and the reflectors though, so at least I got those done. Although I mixed the wiring so I gotta redo it smh.

2023.06.04 09:53 blueditguy97 Best anamorphic camera body?
Hi all, i currently use the a7siii and am looking to get a lightweight and budget set up.. (lens + camera body to be under 6k usd)
I am looking to sell all my sony gear to buy a gh6 and laowa nanomorph.
Because i value the anamorphic stabilization, in body desqueeze and light weight.
Can anyone share their experience of a7siii vs gh6 for anamorphic? Not sure if its a good choice as ive been happy with a7siii just that i want the anamorphic look now without lugging an atomos to desqueeze.. plus no ibis for anamorphic on a7siii

2023.06.04 09:51 BryggerHeise Numerological day analysis of 4-6–2023 17/8 Goodness, Benevolence, Humility & Beauty/ Feminine principle
| Inspired by your Ability to Manifest, you want to bring Goodness, Humility and Beauty into the world, with the Feminine principle of Eros, Yin, Art, Growth and Decay as essence. 4-6–2023 17/8 Goodness, Benevolence, Humility & Beauty/ Feminine principle Spirit: 4 Physical Realization; Matter; Pragmatic Way; Daily practice Soul: 6 Power; Male Drive; Yang; Life force; Sexuality. Body: 23 Unconditional Love or ‘Cry for Love’? The sum total of today is 17/8: Goodness, Benevolence, Humility and Beauty resulting in the feminine principle This you want to live and express through your spirit’s Ability to Manifest, your soul’s Power and Drive and your physical ability to express Unconditional Love. Today's pentagram Themes This daring process is driven by two major themes today: ‘Expansion of Self-Awareness’ and ‘Relationships’. Blue 2-Red 4: Axis of Expansion of Self-Awareness: 2(9) - (7)4 Focus-concentration drives your expansion of self-awareness. In the quest to find the answer to WHO you really, your focus lies on what brings you closer to yourself. “What do I need to let go of because it does not bring me to the highest expression of myself, and what do I need to hold on to and further develop as it brings me the highest expression of myself? Many a time you have to do what is difficult to do. The two driving forces are “Serve, Aid and Heal “ coming from the spiritual level to join with “Learning from Karma” coming from the physical level. 29: To ‘Serve, Aid and Heal’ is a great way to get out of being overly focussed on yourself and your beautiful Ego. It may vastly expand your awareness of WHO you are, when you serve, aid and heal. The danger lies in overdoing it and being only focussed on serving, healing and aiding others, to get love, appreciation and approval. You then fall into the “Helper Syndrome” 74: ’Learning from Karma’ may serve you well also. If you are able to manifest this power of self-reflection, if you are able to learn from your own mistakes, then it puts you on the way to the Light. If you do not develop this self-reflective ability or refuse to learn from your mistakes, your awareness gets more and more restricted, confined and narrow. The balance of the two principles lies in ‘Dissolution’ and ‘Restart’. It is a very restless energy as you constantly have to decide on new transformations, new beginnings. It takes the deep feminine energy to be able to rebuild again and again. Blue 4- Red 6: The axis of Fate, Focus and Concentration: 4(1)-(9)6 Your inner awakening and leadership drives your quest for focus and concentration. Your inner leadership makes you decide what to hold on to and what to let go of. Focussing – thus avoiding Fate- is a dominant feature in your life. The two driving forces are the Spiritual Mountaineer coming from the emotional level to join with Healing Magnetism coming from the mental level. Your feelings are reaching for the highest expression of your spirit, whereas your mind wants to heal through its magnetic powers, through transference of energy, being a cosmic antenna. 41: Spiritual Mountaineer The spiritual mountaineer is capable of translating ideas and inspiration immediately into action or physical form. Basically capable of manifesting any idea with success. This holds the danger of a deep fall, as such a steep path is also very narrow and you may fall off. A prerequisite is a deep love for yourself. 96: Healing Magnetism; Cosmic Antenna Healing magnetism holds the ability to heal in a magnetic and even magical way, by transferring energy, like in Reiki. Most people with this number are unaware of this capability. The danger lies in the misuse of power turning this gift into an self-oriented addiction. The balance of the two principles lies in their sum: the higher dimension of vitality. What is bigger than a human’s vitality? Divine vitality. Once you hit the right balance on this axis you will experience a sense of heightened vitality in yourself and in the people and animals around you. (Especially animals pick up on this higher energy very quickly) Beware: Should you misuse your gifts and avoid to focus, the energy may turn against you, creating unexpected Fate and low Vitality. Levels of Awareness You have high mental and physical awareness today. Your mental awareness is obtained through Revolution and Healing magnetism. Your physical awareness is obtained through ‘Undeserved Luck or Deep wound’ and ‘Learning from Karma’. The goal of both levels is to Intuitively show the Sun-Child in you. To be the public person who stands in the middle of attention, being a role model for others. The goal is also to have Powerful Insights, like a powerful inner sun rising up in you. Triangles Your mental and physical awareness is further enhanced today with the connection to the 6th (“Ego” realm) principle. It gives you the conscious decision to show the “sun child” in you. Individual number not yet discussed: “Ego” realm: Blue/Red 63 63 Sun child 3x21 Rank + Prime: 16. + 47 63 gives the ability to be a ‘Public Person”. Not a follower, but someone who can be a role model for others. 63’s mostly have a positive aura (charisma). 63 as the reversion of 36 has conquered the impulsiveness, which characterizes the 36. 3x21: Conscious Decision (3) to let the “Inner Sun” of Insight (21) shine. 3 behind 6; Conscious Decision (3) to work positively with the Force (6). Sum 9: The Mind helps in doing so. 16+47=63 contains the Perseverance, Assertiveness (Axis 1-6) to live Self-Consciously (7) in Daily Life (4). Note: If your birthday is today, the topics described above are your topics for 2023. Should a baby be born on this day, then today’s themes are the baby’s life-themes. Are you fed up with endless contradicting concepts? Are you tired of fake “gurus” who keep failing you? If you answered Yes to any of these questions, then I can tell you this: I’ve been there. My name is John Mulvihill. And I’m here to help you handle your dating life ONCE AND FOR ALL. Since 2011, I made it my mission get good at. no.. Be the BEST at this. My dream was to hit the 100 lays. I thought it was impossible. Fast forward to 2017, I am at 722 lays as I am writing this. Obssessed? Maybe. Do you have to take it that far? Up to you. Point is, I know my shit when it comes to getting laid. And trust me, I’m very far from being a natural. And no this is not one of those sleazy marketing tactics to make you relate. I was actually very nerdy. Virgin until college. However I do believe that my very high IQ and over-analytical mind is what helped me figure out a lot of what I am about to teach you. Back in 2012 I got to coach bootcamp along with the “top” instructors from an infamous company you might know about (starts with R and ends with D.). Here is what I discovered – Some of the instructors are actually knowledgable but fail to apply that knowledge. – Some of them have an incomplete or non-optimized strategy. – And some of them flat out LIE about their results. These instructors were promising results they couldn’t get themselves! As you can guess the student would NEVER progress or at least veryyy sloooooowly. Actually most of those students would average 5 to 10 lifetime lays although they have been studying that shit for years. How convenient is that for those instructors to keep selling you their new magic pill product every month huh? If you relate to what I am saying. I want to help you break that cycle. See, my goal is not to make of you a repeat customer. This is not my full time job. My goal is to make of you a legit PIMP and make this community great again. I spent years picking the brains of all the top guys I personally know who literally PULL EVERY NIGHT. Most of them prefer to remain anonymous and are not interested in teaching their secrets. With my critical and analytical mind, I kept optimizing what works and ditching what doesn’t. That left me with. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ If you're wondering why our courses are priced lower than the original prices and are feeling a bit suspicious (which is understandable), we can provide proof of the course's contents. 2023.06.04 09:49 Usernamecujo Please help! Smart modem 3
We have been with Telstra for years.. No issues with their modern or service (NBN I should specify, their customer service is abhorrent) A couple of weeks ago suddenly our wifi would drop out from all devices. After it happened a couple of times, I checked the modem and noticed all the indicator lights on the back were off, although the front white light was on. After a few minutes, eventually all the lights come back on line and slowly all my devices would reconnect.
It started happening once a day. Then begun to happen 2 times a day. I called Telstra who after hearing of my issue, first task was to try to upsell me on my plan?! Wtf?
Eventually they decided to send out a new modem. This was a passion in the arse as I had to re set up dozens of devices including Smart globes, security cameras, Google assistants, etc which all took time.
By the next day, the new modem was doing it too.
I tried different cables and power points, but read a thread from 2019 that said this was a common issue caused by apple devices. We only have 2 iPads. All other devices are android. We removed our iPads but only half an hour later, it happened again.
I was also read to disable IPv6 and change to 506 hours or something which is. Still hasn't helped.
I'm at my wit's end. What the hell is going on? Please help

2023.06.04 09:46 Murky-Shift-3967 Am I wrong? Not sure why I accepted...
| I get an order that is 6.8 miles away... so that is 13.6 mi. round trip. Pays $10.80. I honestly dont know why I accepted it. When leaving Carl's Jr., I read in the delivery instructions that their house is at the end of a dirt road. I deliver in a small city. Not "The Town of...". Little back story: I spent the better part of four hours today detailing my car. I take care of my stuff, and take pride in presenting myself as a well put together professional. I want people to be comfortable with me when I show up. First impressions and all. When I read the details, I text the customer hoping they were like my last delivery, at the beginning of a dirt road, and that I could walk the food in. No, they say 1/2 mile, it's more like 3/4 as it turmed out. I truly was hoping that maybe they would offer to come to the end of the road to get their food. No dice. I waited a 10 minutes to see if they were picking up what I was putting down. Nothing, no response. So I park my car out on the paved road and walk the order into their creepy, in-the-middle-of-nowhere dirt road. It took some time to walk up the steep hill 3/4 mile dirt trail. I contacted support on the way so I wouldn't get a contract violation for being 15 minutes late. The pictures are S23 night shot. Aside from the full moon peeking here and there it is pitch black. The S23 does wonders in low light situations. Now the question. Am I an ass for not wanting to take my car down some fucked up dirt road? I spent close to $50 on supplies and hours of labor detailing it. Also, It's not like I knew they lived down some fucked up dirt path prior to accepting the order. submitted by Murky-Shift-3967 to doordash [link] [comments] |
2023.06.04 09:46 dokushin FFX2 HDR -- A brief, mild review
Brief background: I'm an over-the-hill class gamer who grew up with FF's 1, "2", and "3" (those are 4 and 6 now, and yes, I know you already knew). FFX and X2 represented a glaring hole in my experience that I sought to correct over the past couple of weeks. And while I don't have much to say on FFX -- it's a great game, maybe not for me -- I have quite a bit to say about FFX2. I need the catharsis, so I'm just going to jump right in, by topic.
The Stuff Everyone Hates Just to get this out of the way, the completion business is completely bonkers. Some of the stuff guarding 100% (Via Infinito is a great example) feels like post-game screw around stuff to extend playtime, not critical do-this-or-get-a-bad-ending stuff. My theory is that that's how it was intended to work, but at some point they put more and more emphasis on that elusive completion, and it's... ugh. I mean, they make you perform a major faction choice early in the game, and one of them will then and there torpedo your "perfect run". Another bit of completion and an either-or choice of unique accessory relies on who you talk to first with no indication of it mattering. It's confusing and obtuse.
Oh, and the outfits are ridiculous. I'm not gonna spend a lot of time there. Just talking about it makes me feel a bit skeevy.
Mechanics I love job-change systems, strategic building, and the new ATB system here is a lot of fun, with shit happening everywhere. So it's easy to come in excited. Unfortunately, it all is kind of ... well, let's break it down.
- The ATB system, more and more towards the end of the game, exhibits a huge amount of queueing problems, as more and more you have full charge bars just sitting around waiting for some other shit to get done. More than once I'd finish casting something while a fat tonberry was waving his knife around, only to sit there staring at him for several seconds, and then have him attack again. Against multitarget fights (like Major Numerous) it feels particularly punishing as it seems easy for your actions to clump up after quite a few of the enemy's. Some clarity on the turn ordering would have helped a lot (perhaps an FFX-style display). As it is, it's very hard to make multipart strategies work. Which you need to do, because...
- The job system is, like, not really a job system. It's a weird beast, because most of the jobs feel like they're pretty locked in to a role, but then there isn't any credible way to benefit from more than one job at a time. (Yes, hang on, I'm getting to that.) So clearly the sphere change system is meant to pick up that slack, and the idea of strategically laying out jobs on a board to move between was really cool, up until the first time I needed to traverse the whole board (Paine's special sphere, maybe?) and it became obvious that there wasn't any cost to doing so; if you spam the sphere changes you can get everyone through all of their boards before the enemy does anything in 90% of cases. There's no other cost to changing spheres, so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing here, but it feels like any board with some powerful effect behind "hit all the gates" is just saying "to continue character progression you're going to have to do thirty seconds of mindless button mashing before every fight." Okay, so I leave that behind, but then, if you don't swap jobs, it's back to overrestricted roles again.
- As you progress, items try to address this, as you get accessories (and boards!) that let you access skill sets from another job. By and large these are pretty terrible, for the next few reasons (which also hurt the game as a whole).
- The jobs are clogged up with way too much useless gimmick garbage. Almost every job has one or many HP-percent attacks (think Demi), and they have the same problem they've always had, which is that against enemies it would work against you're almost always better off just, like, hitting them. The fat guys you might actually want to try this on are all immune to it, guaranteed. Every single one of these skills is a waste of design and a waste of space, and I resent having to scroll past them looking for something that might work. Except, I can't, because...
- Almost all of the stuff that isn't HP-percent is instead normal-attack-plus-status-effect. Anyone who's spent any time playing RPGs knows this issue, and it's the same one as above; against stuff that it would actually work on, you should just get to killing it; it doesn't matter if you put some weak-ass poison on it (and, despite the FFX poison being ridiculously good, the FFX2 poison is so trivial that I stopped bothering to get it off my team halfway through the game). Jobs are absolutely riddled with this shit. For half the classes, literally everything they learn that you can click on is "normal attack plus something that every strong enemy is immune to". And that's what makes the other-job accessories so bad, because getting access to a bunch of ways to pay MP to do a normal attack with a fancy "GUARD" shield over it isn't useful.
- Just to cap off these lists of useless moves, the "best" skills in jobs will frequently be some kind of instant death (there are dozens of these). Same problem as above except moreso, because even more stuff will be immune. Like, seriously, some jobs have multiple instant death attacks, and none of them ever work.
- But what about magic? I've been a black magic fan for decades. Well, the designers hate me specifically, because magic in this game sucks shit. I mean, it's absolutely awful. The black mage class learns three levels of the elemental spells and nothing else (power spells like Flare and Ultima are unlocked on sphere change boards and aren't specific to any job), and they do horrible damage. Without context maybe this isn't useful, but a max level black mage (99) with max magic (255) and the pay-more-for-stronger-spells ability (Magic Booster) can come up to Shiva, weak to fire, and hit her with the strongest fire spell right in the face, and it will do less than 2000 damage. At those stat levels normal attacks are expected to hit the 9999 cap regularly, to say nothing of -- well, I'm getting to that.
- Okay, but what about other jobs? BLM sucks, what else is there? Okay, there's White Mage -- no Holy, just heals. And... well, that's it. All the other classes are variants on fighters with only a couple gimmick exceptions (the Songstress doesn't use stats, and the Alchemist only uses items). Someone is about to bring up the Gun Mage -- the Blue Mage of FFX2, but check it out -- quite a few of the blue magics are physical, all of them are kind of bleh, and the other menu the Gun Mage gets is the ability to do a physical, strength-based attack that will do quadruple damage if you can pick the enemy's type from a list. Seriously, for physical dealers we have Fighter, Gunner, Samurai, Dark Knight, Berserker, Trainer, and Thief, explicitly strength jobs (oh, did Dark Knight fool you because it's sphere grid gives bonuses to Magic for some reason? The darkness command doesn't use strength, the spells they cast all inflict status and don't care about Magic, and also don't work, and the capstone Black Sky does magic damage but is based on your strength). Even the oddballs have no use for magic, even as a simple "attack" command (strength, natch) never goes out of style.
- Okay, but magic lets you hit elemental weaknesses? No. This is another big filler for classes -- not as much as status and fraction, but just about as useless, many physical jobs will have attack commands for each element. Why spend MP to cast a spell to hit a weakness for 2000 when you can hit a weakness with a physical attack for four times that? But by the latter parts of the game, elemental weaknesses are becoming very rare, and a bit hard to guess at, meaning playing the elements is really asking for it.
- Doesn't this mean the magic stat is useless and magic-users suck shit? Yeah, that's what I said above.
- But even most of the physical stuff gets gimmicked out of the room; there are a handful of physical abilities that ignore defense. FFX2 uses a smooth percentage based defense-based system, and higher-level mobs have more defense, so ignoring defense is a HUGE deal, especially against bosses and superbosses (for instance, an attack might do 1200 on a hard target, but ignoring defense would do more like 15,000 with the same power.) So you can try to overpower enemies with strong defense-affected attacks, and lose the game, or you can use... well, let's give it its own bullet point.
- Allow me to introduce the bread and butter of the game. The strongest, defense-ignoring, hit-everything attack. It's a specialty of the Samurai, so you know it's going to be good. What happens is, you swing your sword, and use it to... launch a little firecracker at enemies, which lands at their feet and merrily pops, dealing basically the most damage you can deal, easily growable into tens of thousands. Yeah, it's called Fireworks, and it being the strongest move in the game is ridiculous. And there's not even any contest; you can set someone up with max magic (inadvisable, see above) and magic boost and Ultima and get everything right and blow all your MP and -- you'll hit almost not quite as hard as a samurai just randomly using Fireworks. Sometimes enemies have much lower magic defense, but remember, Fireworks ignores defense. It's exactly as good against everything, it hits everything on the field. (One might note there are not any player-accesible spells that ignore magic defense.)
- Seriously. Fireworks. And yes, I know that gunpowder, and rockets, and all that jazz, and if the thing had a little more oomph to it I might like it, or if it made any sense at all, but to completely outclass actually using the sword you're holding in every possible way? FFS.
- There is one decent alternative for damage-ignoring, and it's on the Mascot sphere -- a "super" job you unlock by doing everything perfectly. They're different for each person, but they come with a pile of status and fraction attacks (...) and Yuna and Paine's can use a powerful single-target defense-ignoring attack. Arguably Fireworks is still better, but you can mix it up with these. Not that they look any cooler; the Mascot job puts each girl in a huge fluffy costume (a Moogle, a Cait Sith, and a Tonberry) with big goofy details, and the moves for all of them are all cartoony jokes. I hate when games do this -- make the strongest stuff these kinds of joke items -- but whatever.
- Ok, so, whatever, that all sucks. What about the special dressspheres? These turn one of the three into a super-powered version that chases off the other party members and replaces them with parts of their new huge form. In principle this is badass, and the idea of three pieces designed to work together is cool, and it's a powerful moment to go completely... well, whatever they're going. If the things were ever useful it'd be great. Unfortunately, they have stats that are fixed to your level, and don't gain the effect of any equipment you have, and don't get the benefit of the sphere grid you used (apart from a small HP bonus for larger ones), and their stats are not great. They accelerate at high levels, but by then you'll have accessories that increase your power dramatically, and losing those for the special spheres means they're going to struggle to do any damage at all. Oh, and they're clogged to the gills with status attacks, and instant death, and all that, of course. They woulnd't really be usable even if you didn't have to play fox-and-hound on your controller for thirty seconds to unlock changing into them.
- I'm getting too worked up, let me segue. Equipment consists entirely of two accessories per person, and any bonus effects on your sphere grid. There aren't any weapons and armor; the aesthetics (and, nominally, the stats) are built into the jobs themselves, so you're always using the same weapon. I found this really boring, especially since most of the accessories for most of the game are simple stat bonuses or immunity to one specific status effect. Later you start getting more interesting options, but then those get blown away again by the late-game stuff; massive stat bonus items and needing to use an accessory to break the damage cap. (And another to break the HP cap, if that's your thing.) You can't really get this stuff intrinsically, creating a "tax" on a resource you only have two of. Notably, the special spheres I mentioned above can learn to break the damage cap automatically, which is hilarious because typically it doesn't matter, they can't do 9999 anyway. And if that wasn't enough, you have to unlock that ability with FFX-flavored finding key items in random places everywhere.
- Areas? The outdoor environments are beautiful and varied, and while the new "jumping" (read: "hold B to keep going") is a bit cheesy and obstructionist at times the areas are interesting to navigate and explore. Of course, then you go in a dungeon and everything is murky square corridors forever. It's kind of a jarring change.
- Oh, that reminds me. You know how sometimes in RPGs they'll make dungeons that have just ridiculously long, featureless corridors, obviously there just to make you get in more fights? Via Infinito is 100 floors of that, and it's an absolute grind, and it's needed for completion. I mean, this thing is worse than the Chrysler Building, or the Karma Palace. It's just... ugh.
Okay, I'm tired of talking about mechanics. Basically, they suck, the game hates the Magic stat and anyone who wants to cast a spell, there's one ability out of all the abilities on every job that matters and it throws a little party for the enemy before breaking the game over your knee. Hope you like fireworks.
Story The story is told from a unique perspective and with kind of a unique flavor. Some of that flavor I absolutely hate -- the music for most of the game just kind of grates on me, some of the characters are just too much, and things stay always a little silly -- but that's not bad, it's more a matter of preference. I think that writing this story was a fun experiment. By the time it had concluded I feel like it lost track of what it was doing and left some stuff just kind of hanging, but all in all I enjoyed it. It's frustrating because so many elements and details are locked behind impossible-to-predict random actions, triggers, and areas, so to see it all you need a walkthrough and a spreadsheet, which really kills the flow of the story itself.
** Creature Creator **
This -- where you capture fiends and make them fight in arena battles -- is completely disconnected from the rest of the game, but is a lot of fun. I enjoyed trying different strategies with different creatures, and since you can customize their abilities by feeding them items it helped to recapture some of that tactical complexity that I feel is missing with the specialized jobs and no equipment. Really, I wish it wasn't there, because I would have been done with this game 100 hours earlier, but it was fun to mess around with.
The stories you unlock from releasing monsters are all basically comedy skits, but some are entertaining and it's fun to get a glimpse into the lives of random people.
** Other **
I really enjoyed most of the battle quips and the quotes that go with the various jobs, although sometimes they were a bit forced. This, though:
- "Duck soup!"
- "Duck what?"
is the funniest thing I've heard all year and I'm not kidding.
** Overall **
You know already just from the word count above. I found the story inoffensive and some of the side activities fun, but the mechanical aspects of this RPG feel very... I don't know, amateurish, like they were put together by someone who has never actually played an RPG and confronted the harsh reality of strong enemies being immune to things. Between that, and the domination of Fireworks, and the deep hostility to magic, there was never really anything I was excited about learning or developing. I'd get a new job and I'd know already what I'd find -- more pointless attacks and a couple of good auto-abilities. There was precious little to look forward to getting, meaning the strategic element I crave in my number-based games was almost entirely missing. It promises Tactics and delivers Mystic Quest. (No shade, FFMQ had amazing music and I really kind of like it, even if it's a wafer-thin game.)
I'd love to discuss any of this in the comments with anyone with different experiences. Having put the game to rest, in retrospect it felt... draining, more than anything. A billion things to keep track of over tiny little fractions of percent of progress, dozens and dozens and dozens of "attack-plus-this" that don't matter, and probably the worst black magic nerf of any FF game. Pretty disappointing overall.

2023.06.04 09:46 FlukeRoads Sudden powerloss on highway, fuel light and gage intermittent, then small leak after turning off engine.
My 1998 A4 avant 2.4 (ALF engine? 30 v V6 anyway) has developed a problem.
I fueled up the day before yesterday. Did the classic mistake and drove off with the tank lid open - and lost the lid. Bought a cheap spare plastic tank lid.
yesterday we went to the next city 70 km away. On the way there, the car stuttered a little once, but i didn't think much of it.
During the drive home it lost power twice, cruising around 120-130 indicated ( 115 on the gps), just died and then came back after a few seconds. a couple minutes after losing power and coming back on, the fuel gage dropped to zero, and lit the "plz fill up" light, with a beep, and then popped up again to level after a minute. This happened 3 times, and then we turned off the motorway to check it out.
As we pull in to a burger place and get out, the car pissed a little puddle of blackish fuel on the ground, from a hose end under the threshold just behind the right hand front wheel. We decided to go directly home. When i started the engine, the fuel leak stopped, and we drove home across town. When we got home there was nothing leaking, so its now parked up here.
Where do I begin to understand and troubleshoot this?
Can someone point me to a drawing with all the hoses to see what goes where?

2023.06.04 09:45 EarthSeraphEdna Actual playtest report: 1st- and 2nd-level Lost Mine of Phandelver
Earlier, I played in a one-on-one playtest game wherein I controlled four PCs and ran through the entirety of the 1st- and 2nd-level sections of
Lost Mine of Phandelver. I had no prior knowledge of the adventure aside from a quick skim back in 2014, so I went in mostly blind. The party was a barbarian, a greatsword fighter, a crossbow fighter, and a wizard. We used only material from the playtest documents, with the exceptions of the Emerald Enclave as a group patron (using the rules in the
Journal of Villainy) and
toll the dead as a wizard cantrip. These were the character sheets:
• 2nd-level barbarian • 2nd-level greatsword fighter • 2nd-level crossbow fighter • 2nd-level wizard Some assorted commentary:
• In my opinion,
Lost Mine of Phandelver is a very poor, dated adventure. The encounters, especially the very first battle, are rather perilous unless the party plays dirty and tries to launch ambushes themselves. It might be a good idea for One D&D to push alternatives for starting adventures; I still see many DMs running
Phandelver, because hey, it is the designated starter adventure, so it must be a well-balanced tutorial, right?
• Speaking of ambushes, the playtest Stealth and ambush rules are
virtually unplayable. We had to default to the 2014 Stealth and ambush rules, which were not much better, and still required plenty of GM fiat and adjudication. One D&D really needs to tighten the Stealth and hiding rules and present consistent rules for PCs trying to ambush enemies, and rules for enemies trying to ambush PCs.
• The barbarian had some nifty quality of life changes. Primal Knowledge, helped the barbarian make Strength (Stealth) checks for ambushes. But aside from that, Primal Knowledge had no real impact on noncombat tasks, since the barbarian had to reserve their Rage for actual combat.
• The GM was dead-set on giving everyone exactly two short rests per workday, and allowed characters to take a long rest only after clearing out an entire dungeon. In other words, all of 1st level took place during a single workday, and all of 2nd level likewise transpired across just one workday. This made the new fighter's Second Wind (i.e. proficiency/long rest) a downgrade during tier 1. I think that One D&D should simply make it easier for the party to acquire short rests, rather than kludge class resources into long rest schemes.
• Wizards (and full spellcasters in general) have far too much power at higher levels, but can still struggle at the lower levels. It would be nice to take some power away from higher-level casters, while improving them at the lower levels. A 1st-level wizard feels like a major liability, especially with no Arcane Recovery (i.e. a whopping two spell slots). Academic seems like overkill, overshadowing the Expertise class feature of actual skill features; if Crawford is dead-set on giving wizards blanket advantage on this many Intelligence checks, including Investigation checks to Study, then all classes should receive something similar at 2nd level.
• The free 1st-level feats were the second most significant change to the low-level metagame. Being able to pick up Savage Attacker (actually good at the low levels, now), Lightly Armored (fantastic for a sorcerer or a wizard, especially since it gives shield proficiency), or Tough for free is a major upgrade for any low-level character.
• The single most significant change to the low-level metagame was Graze. Low-level characters whiff against enemy AC embarrassingly often, but Graze saves the day. There were so, so many times wherein an enemy was taken down due to Graze, and would have lived to take another turn otherwise. (Polearm Master's 1d4 attack seems to be compatible with a glaive's Graze, for that matter.) It matters less at higher levels, but the chip damage from Graze really, really counts during rusty dagger shanktown. The barbarian and the greatsword fighter actually felt reliable.
• On the other hand, the heavy crossbow's Push was relevant not a single time, even with maps and grids in use. Push might sporadically send an enemy careening into a pit or into lava, but it is usually of limited use in your typical dungeon crawl brawl.
• Before the game ever started, the DM and I specifically agreed that we would ignore the existence of Light and Nick. They are too badly worded at the moment. Juggling a scimitar and a shortsword in one hand while availing of a shield, Fighting Style: Dueling, and Fighting Style: Two-Weapon Fighting simultaneously is 100% RAW legal, and was too stupid for us.
• The DM handed out Heroic Advantage (a.k.a. Inspiration) not once. They just do not seem to be the type to give it out.
• As I level up the characters to 3rd, I see that the Berserker's Frenzy is rather tempting (though Intimidating Presence at 14th is quite the dud). On the other hand, the Evoker looks as mediocre as ever, and there is still no way I would ever willingly choose the Champion. A 3rd-level Champion gains only a single floating skill proficiency over the 2014 version, and it is hardly going to turn a fighter into a versatile skill monkey.
I will be filling out the survey, now.

2023.06.04 09:44 Goblinchieftain1 Whats the sensory experience of one of the shows?
Ive been considering going to the Chicago show but my main concern is that ive got a bunch of sensory disorder stuff and get easily overwhelmed by stuff like light, sound, and especially big crowds. Since they got moved outside a while back im wondering if its possible to just stand towards the back of the crowd where it might be thinner and not get caught up in the weirdo swarm? Ive never been to any other concerts or similar events so any advice on the matter would be much appreciated 😼🤘

2023.06.04 09:43 ShittyScrambledEggs I feel like Michael should have been the final antagonist
There's like 10 different gta subs but this one seemed the least online focused so I'm posting here. I'm not a writer or a modern day philosopher but playing the story again for the first time in years, I couldn't help but feel like the inclusion of Michael as not just a protagonist, but possibly the most "main charactery" of the three was strange considering the main themes of the world. GTA games often deconstruct our real life society in a very satirical fashion but they don't just do it for the laughs, they're usually commenting on the things they're satirizing. In GTA V the overarching theme that is present throughout the whole game is the idea of corruption and sin at the very upper levels of society, not just the rich and wealthy, but simply those in power over others. Steve Haines, Devin Weston, Lazlo, and even Stretch, all people who use those "below" them to gain or hold power. Even the minor villians, they are all characters who are at the top, help keep people at the top, or are trying to climb to the top, every single character in the game plays into this pyramid schemish idea.
This is contrasted by our main cast, or atleast in theory. Trevor is the character who fights against this the most. He runs his own company that he carries on his back, completely free and independent. Next we have Franklin, Franklin is someone who is tired of being used by the powerful and sees an out by climbing to the top with Michael being his ticket to do that, ofcourse throughout the game he is being strung on until he realizes that nothing has changed. Franklin can be "redeemed" although in the game it doesn't feel like that ever happened. Yes they got back at everyone who screwed them, but what message does that send? We can assume that the three protagonist have all become the very people we spent the whole game fighting against which in itself can be the message, but the game ends it on a strange tone, the vibe is that we somehow won when in reality, after the credits, our characters have just become the villians.
Now finally to the point, I feel that this issue cannot be worked around with Michael being one of the main protagonist for one simple reason. From beginning to end, Michael is an antagonist. We know he used Trevor when they were younger, and now 10 years later he is doing the same to Franklin. The entire game focuses on the hole Michael dug by making a deal with shady individuals a decade prior, and we watch him climb out of that hole on the backs of others. This is such a strange choice. Rockstar made it a point to have their world say "hey, these kind of people are bad and are the antagonists of our world and story" and then they make you play as one of them which I just find odd.
I'm now going to suggest a change I think would more themematically fit in with the message I think they were trying to send. Keep Michael as a charcter, have his story play out essentially the exact same way as it does, dialouge and all. But in this scenario, Michael is NOT playable, and not just that, he is the final antagonist. I could go on for hours on why this change would make the themes much more consistent and the story unfold in a much more interesting way but I'll break it down only for how it impacts the main cast for now.
Firstly, not being able to see things from Michaels perspective would add a bit more mystery into what the hell is happening at those upper levels of the pyramid that we had explained to us in every Michael story mission. Michael lied a lot throughout the story to the entire crew, we knew this because we saw the truth from Michael's perspective, but imagine if we didn't. Imagine the plot twist when we find out that Michael made a deal with the Feds and tried to have Trevor killed. There are also many instances towards the end after that revalation that really paint Michael in a bad light not just with Trevor, but with Franklin. Franklin becomes much less trusting of Michael. At many points, when crew members die on heists Michael will be forgetful if not outright dismissive showing that he doesn't care about these people, all things that would foreshadow the eventual twist at the end where he ends up as the final antagonist.
For Franklin, I think this enhances his charcter to potentially the most intriguing character arc in a GTA game. At the start, it would appear as though Franklins talents are finally appreciated by someone of importance, someone who can finally help him climb the pyramid and escape the cycle of crime and violence his friends and family are so accustomed to. As the story progresses though, we slowly begin to realize that not only has Michael been using him to solve his own problems, but that the life Franklin so desperately wanted was never worth it in the first place. Michael has a failing marriage, no friends, nothing to live for, and money hasn't solved any of it. I don't know exactly how this plays out, but essentially a much more developed ending A, like many missions leading up to this point, where instead of being any block of the pyramid, Franklin decides to tear the whole thing down and that includes Michael.
I think there should still be a third main character. The three protagonists represented three different tiers of society. Michael being the wealthy "1%", Trevor being a middle class independent "business owner", and Franklin as the lower class "blue collar guy". I want to change the story as little as possible atleast for Trevor and Franklin, but I think Lamar would work as a good replacement. See, Franklin becomes nearly as wealthy as Michael after their first heist together, in this new scenario I think they should play into that more. Perhaps play up the idea that Franklin was "keeping Lamar out" for being so unhinged, so Lamar has to find his own way up the pyramid. So now we have Franklin helping out a lot with the high level crimes alongside Michael, Trevor always out doing his own thing with TPI, and Lamar struggling most of the game through petty level crimes trying to find and in on what Franklin has. Maybe this becomes the conflict that finally pits Franklin against Michael, maybe after a job gone bad Michael suggests that Franklin do to Lamar what he tried to do to Trevor all those years ago.
I think this cast of three work better for the themes of the world since it allows Franklin to really secure that "main main character" spot and have him be the one to really send the message home that I think Rockstar was trying to send. You have to destroy the pyramid, you can't play into it, dont allow yourself to be used by the powerful and wealthy. Trevor and Lamar already embody that mindset but are treated as lunatics for not conforming to the rules of this society, their characters would be these sort of twisted angels on Franklins shoulder. In the end, Franklin would choose his friend and family, Lamar, over power and money. Trevor would find the companionship he longs for in Lamar and Franklin. And Lamar would probably be written a bit differently to tie into this bro-mance ending but I dont have time for that.
Idk, this is just something I've been thinking about my whole playthrough, going for the platinum now.

2023.06.04 09:43 EarthSeraphEdna Actual play report: 1st- and 2nd-level Lost Mine of Phandelver

2023.06.04 09:40 ChootadSinghMoon Replacing one pendant dining light with three pendants dining lights with same box and same switch (USA)
We had a dining Room light pendant with one 60W incandescent Edison retro bulb, which was doing just fine.
Today I replaced it with three pendant lights with three 60W incandescent Edison retro bulbs. It blew up upon turning the switch on. No fires or anything but there was a little spark. After that nothing worked. I tried removing two bulbs. No luck. It didn’t blew anything in the breaker box.
We are using Kasa Smart Dimmer Switch model number HS220P3, single pole, requires neutral wire, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi light switch, it is UL certified.
Can anyone help me understand what I did wrong and how to fix it?
In exchange, I can help you understand what is happening with US Debt Ceiling in detail to you. Cheers!

2023.06.04 09:39 pewdsbiggest_fan Skinwalker experience
This happened may 31st 2023, so just a few days ago but it was my boyfriends birthday and he has this field behind his house with a clearing so the stars are really pretty out there at night so we got a blow up mattress some pillows and blankets and parked his truck in the field to look at the stars, it all started when I had to pee so I made my bf walk back to his house to get me toilet paper so I could just pee outside and use the toilet paper but when he was gone I was on the passenger side of the truck standing outside it and I heard something messing with the driver side door handle and I just tried to ignore it and pretend I didn’t hear it because I don’t handle things like that well I just pretend it isn’t happening and waited for him to get back, when he got back a few minutes later he brought his cat with him and when the cat got out there with him the cat was absolutely terrified and you could see it in his face and he never acts like that and he jumped down and me and my bf were back in the back bed of the truck laying on the air Mattress looking at the stars and he heard his cat sneeze and started looking around and something just came over me and I begged him not to get out because he wanted to get out to find the cat, so he didn’t get out and we laid back down and I was honestly about to fall asleep and so was he and my bf just kept mumbling “can’t fall asleep I have to protect you, I need to protect you” and not even 30 seconds later we heard what sounded like a 4 year old girl laugh in the edge of the field near the woods and he just said we need to leave right now I’ll explain when we get back to the house, so we left and as soon as we got back all he was said was “ it was a sk*****ker, it was mimicking noises to get us to separate out of the truck” and ever since that night really weird things have been happening to us and we always feel really uneasy, the next night we were talking about it and afterwards we drove around and we drove by an abandoned house and every light in that house flickered on and off when we drove by, and we’ve drove by a lot of street lamps that randomly go out and come back on as we pass them driving, and honestly I don’t feel safe anywhere I go. I’m definitely lucky to be alive since he left me alone in that field once that night but my mom told me they can follow you and attach themselves to you so all we can do is pray, if anyone has any advice please don’t hesitate to give it because honestly I’m scared for my life and usually I don’t strongly believe in this stuff, but earlier that night he mentioned one and said the word so we think that’s why we encountered one and honestly I just want it to go away.

2023.06.04 09:39 Stonks4Gold Help me choose how to start this again!
Last year I played through 75% of this game as a magic/ faith main on my PC and I stopped playing for a while since I had a kid. I now own a ps5 and I would much rather start again as a different class. Mage was fun but really easy and I want to switch it up. I enjoyed the faith aspect but I really like the sword play and great swords. What class would I want to choose and what should I search for early off? Thank you guys in advance!

2023.06.04 09:37 DamnGentleman Awakening through meditation?
Hi, folks. Over the last few months I've started to take meditation seriously, and I've been sitting for an hour or two a day. As my practice has deepened, so have my experiences, some of which I'm struggling to understand. I've always been very much a materialist and rationalist, so this is quite an adjustment for me. I'd like to share one of these meditative experiences in the hopes that someone here can give me some insight into it.
I’ve felt my perception has been changing for weeks now, which I interpreted as related to my third eye. So, to support that, I decided to do a guided meditation focused on my heart chakra. I settled in, and before long, I was seeing the familiar lights and colors. I started experiencing what I believe were kriyas, which felt like an outside force was adjusting my posture and spine.
Those things I had experienced before while meditating, but the rest was uncharted territory for me. My heart, which normally beats very slowly during meditation, was pounding. A buzzing began in my ears and the whole world started vibrating. Everything sounded like it was being run through a tremolo pedal. Very suddenly, I felt myself being violently sucked up into my head. I let myself go and I was deposited into the cosmos. The near-black background of closed eyes transformed into a true black, punctuated with stars of different colors. They seemed to exist in a defined three-dimensional space, and I moved relative to them as I soared through it. All the sensations in my body felt foreign and strange, in a way that was very reminiscent of psychedelics. At some point, I started “seeing” scenes, but I can’t adequately describe what that was like.
I woke up the next day feeling great and have generally been feeling good since. However, I feel like I’m taking in more information from the world around me, and that can be overwhelming at times. Certain places seem to give me anxiety now, for reasons I can’t put my finger on. On a few occasions, I’ve suddenly known things with a certainty, things that I had no way of knowing. There have also been some weird synchronicities, including an unusual number of snake sightings.
I've read much of the wiki (by the way: the page on kundalini signs is empty) and have incorporated White Light Protection into my daily routine, which seems to help a bit. I’ve stopped consuming intoxicants; they did not agree with whatever I’m going through now. I plan to stick with that for the foreseeable future. I go to therapy regularly, and my therapist is aware of what’s going on.
Does this sound like a kundalini awakening, or something else? I want to know more, but I feel like I don’t know the right questions to ask. I’d be grateful for any guidance generally; this is all so new and unfamiliar to me. There’s a place near me that teaches kundalini yoga, so I plan to reach out them for instruction if that’s what this is. Thanks for reading!

2023.06.04 09:35 D0NTEVENKNOWME Don't Let Reddit Kill 3rd Party Apps!
I know this breaks a few rules but I feel like this is too important not to break them.
What's going on?
A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app
permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from
Apollo to
Reddit is Fun to
Narwhal to
BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface.
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
What's the plan?
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away
permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because
we love Reddit.
What can you do?
- Complain. Message the mods of reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on reddit, such as this one- and sign your username in support to this post.
- Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join us at our sister sub at ModCoord.
- Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible., and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
