Star Trek: Lower Decks characters crossing over into Strange New Worlds doesn't require an in-universe explanation. Simply put, Lower Decks' Mariner and Boimler do not live in a 'cartoon universe' and they are not aware they are animated characters. Lower Decks is set in the same Star Trek universe as Strange New Worlds and both are officially part of canon. The key difference is perception; the fact that Lower Decks is animated is merely a medium for the show, just as live-action is the medium of Strange New Worlds. But the characters in either series don't make the distinction between 'live-action' and 'animation' as both are just the specific mediums of the TV series they appear in.
Case in point, Captain Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) obviously exists in live-action in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard, but Riker also appeared in animated form in Lower Decks. The important thing to understand is it's the same Riker in every show, with the same history and experiences. Riker just happens to be animated on Lower Decks because Lower Decks is an animated series, but he is the same character from TNG and Picard. Similarly, Admiral Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) is the same character in Star Trek: Prodigy as Star Trek: Voyager. Neither of them 'turn into animation' to appear on Lower Decks or Prodigy, nor are they different characters living in a different canon in the animated series. Whether animated or live-action, all of the Star Trek TV series are part of the same continuous canon.
By the nature of being animated series, Star Trek: Lower Decks enjoys a faster pace of relentless comedy while Star Trek: Prodigy can have sweeping outer space adventures and fascinating character designs that even the live-action shows can't quite duplicate. But overall, this is just both shows taking advantage of their particular mediums to deliver Star Trek that is distinctive from the live-action series. But Lower Decks and Prodigy incorporate legacy characters like Admiral Janeway or guest stars like Lt. Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeil) and continue their stories from live-action. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' crossover will see both live-action and animated components, and all of it is officially canon."

Hey everyone,
I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share something that has been weighing on me lately and seek some advice or support. I don't have many people in my life I can trust or confide in, so I thought I'd turn to this community.
To put it bluntly, I don't like my parents. They put on a facade of caring, but deep down, I feel like they don't truly care about me. Our household is filled with constant shouting and arguments, which makes it an unpleasant environment to be in. It's not just fear that drives my dislike for them; it's also the way they disregard my feelings and needs.
Recently, while watching a show on TV together, my dad casually mentioned, "My granddaughter will do that, like singing." It sparked a fear within me that they will try to involve themselves in every aspect of my life and impose their interests onto my future children. I want my children to have the freedom to explore their own passions and not feel pressured to conform to someone else's expectations.
But the real struggle lies in my own emotional vulnerability. I feel incredibly weak when it comes to understanding people's intentions. It's difficult for me to discern whether it's just me overthinking or if others would feel the same if they were in my shoes. I'm left feeling unsure about what steps to take and whom to confide in.
Sadly, I don't have anyone around me who I consider trustworthy enough to share my deepest thoughts and fears. It's a lonely place to be, not having someone to turn to for support and guidance. And the last thing I want is for my children to experience the same emotional isolation and uncertainty.
Right now, it feels like I'm trapped in a cage, unsure of whom I have to live for. I have a genuine fear of encountering individuals who exhibit similar traits as my parents. It's a cycle I want to break for the sake of my own well-being and that of my future family.

I am a big fan of the way the supernatural was done in movies and TV in the 90’s. I’ve seen all of Buffy (a few times), the X files, and recently watched a movie called Death Becomes Her. Excellent movie! And that got me thinking, I need to find more spooky 90’s stuff. Can anyone recommend similar supernatural movies or shows from this time? I wish I could just watch Buffy every night for the rest of my life. It’s so sad when it gets to season six or seven and starts to suck lol

There are countless best-of lists on this sub, but they mostly talk about the same bands. For good reasons, those bands/albums are really awesome.
But in this post I wanted to spotlight a few albums that are close to or sometimes even as good as those. So let's start.
April's Motel Room - Black 14
More on the Alternative Rock side of things, this is front to back a brilliant album filled with acoustic/electric tunes driven by a great voice that manages to capture the spirit of the time perfectly. Many hymns on this one.
Bullet Lavolta - Swandive
Recorded by Dave Jerden (Alice in Chains, Jane's Addiction), Swandive had all the ingredients to become a huge success. Rough, but memorable songs with an awesome production value. But things didn't turn out as they should have and so Swandive is what it is today: A hidden gem.
Catherine Wheel - Chrome
Catherine Wheel were not a grunge band, but being a shoegaze band, they leaned more towards proper song structures than most of their counterparts that mostly tried to be psychedelic. Chrome is accessible, quirky, dissonant at times and has a lots of hits to offer.
Coffin Break - Thirteen
Coffin Break slipped under the radar, probably because of their connection with the Epitaph label, which was more known for Punkrock at the time. Thirteen shares a similar Vibe with Bleach at times, but without the self destructive nature of that one. Peter Litvin later formed Plaster, which are awesome as well. The die hards most likely know Coffin Break because Kurt Cobain loved them and they also appeared in the Hype! Movie.
Handsome - Handsome
Again, not Grunge, but since Helmet are highly regarded in this sub, Handsome need to be mentioned. Sharing some bandmembers with the former, Handsome created a timeless piece of music that was sadly overlooked by most people.
Headswim - Headswim
This is one of the albums I simply can't understand that not more people know about it. It has everything a classic needs. Well produced, edgy but melodic, a well balanced mix of heavier tunes and mellow hymns this could have been one of the greats.
Mudshark - Mudshark
Another release a bit reminiscent of Helmet with stakkato riffing, but Mudshark had their fair amount of Grunge influence too. Straight forward and fun from start to finish Mudshark's only album has more than enough memorable moments that it should be remembered.
Redbelly - Redbelly
Redbelly were obviously influenced by Soundgarden, but they manage to be individual enough and score with strong song writing which covers the whole range of rockers to majestic tunes ("Dear Anastasia") and last track "By Now" shows that they manage to create a haunting track with a 3 minute long jam session as well. Highly recommended.
Rollinghead - Daddyhorse
This is a bit different. Rollinghead remind me of Mother Love Bone and while they are not from Seattle their sound surely fits right in and in parts would even fit something like the Singles Soundtrack really well. Hidden gem more people should know about!
Second Coming - Second Coming
Band members of Second Coming were close friends with Alice in Chains and even shared recordings together. Still they are relatively unknown. Undeserved, their debut album is one of those Killer albums that demand a bit of an open mind, but rewards the listener with an hour of timeless classics. Sadly their often rumored 3rd album never saw the light of day, which is really a shame, because the demos released back then hinted at a return to this style.
Send No Flowers - Juice
Send No Flowers should have been huge. Really huge. Juice has everything that a megaseller needed back then. Well, it wasn't to be but in my heart Juice has it's place firmly cemented right next to the big names.
Tad - Inhaler
Probably more known than some of the other albums, Tad never got the recognition they deserved. But Inhaler is great nonetheless. Their previous albums might be close to what Grunge was about, but Inhaler showed a more focused approach to songwriting which should have made this a success.
Ten Miles Wide - The Gross
This. Is. Great. A band from Seattle producing awesome music. The Gross is big. Back then they might have been big. But they are actually a relatively new band and they are still active and working on their second album. This list was about older releases but this album has to be the exception.

That's it for this list. I tried to limit it to the more accessible releases that might to speak to a wider audience but I plan to make another lists with more things that are tipping into other areas of that awesome century that was the 90s.
If you can't be bothered to check them all at least give Send No Flowers, Second Coming, Headswim and probably Ten Miles Wide a chance.

When I first met her 8 years ago I thought she was gorgeous and that my cousin really lucked out because she was witty, incredibly smart and personal, and super fun to be around too. I honestly thought that if she truly loved him then she would consider his kink interest in swinging. If she gave him a hard no, then would he really want to spend the rest of his life with someone who wouldn't at least compromise somehow? Idk. I thought it made sense.

I walled the 19 feet to the living room and rounded the corner to find her half naked, jeans draped on the sofa, pulling her shirt up to expose her stomach. She said she knew I was attracted to her, and then told me she was interested in me too and that she knew this must be so out of the blue, but that she wanted me so badly. Reaching certain stages in the game shifts the focus from learning the mechanics to adopting unfavorable tactics and exploiting loopholes for victory. It's common to encounter adversaries who, despite being the same level, deal significantly more damage. The only way forward seems to be resorting to tactics such as grab locking them or crafting the most cheesist range build possible to advance. The damage these opponents inflict is disproportionately high for the same level. At present, my stats hover around the mid to high 400's, yet it feels as if I need to reach the range of 800 to 1000 to compete with characters at the same or even lower level.
Capcom, could you please reveal the skill levels of each adversary? With this, I could better determine when to switch from dealing chip damage to replicating the amount of damage my opponents inflict on me, assuming it's feasible. Ideally, I would prefer to engage in an actual fight rather than resorting to tactics such as grab-locking, spamming, and other strategies that can potentially hinder my skill development on learning how to play.
I have to show you some of the cheese you're going to face in the future. The normal Mobs you can deal with pretty easily it feels like the normal mobs are just like you... But the "Boss" characters or your some of the oppoenents you'll face... Not it.. Reminds me of playing Like a Dragon where you can smooth sail all the way until you have to fight Majima and Saejima...
Don't even think you can fight fair with this guy... By the time you reach him you need to be in the 800s

TLDR: Show us the Stats of the opponents we're facing because these guys are hitting like mac trucks and we're suppose to be the same level or lower or higher... But it feels like I am missing something.. It's forcing me to Cheese or grind for HP potions and brute force it.

I watched the dubbed version (iirc) of the movie on TV maybe 7-ish years ago. I don't remember the main plot of the movie*. Other than the info in the title, there's one or two other things I remember which maybe relate to the same movie :
- The king disguises himself and infiltrates the shaolin temple.
