I don't even know where to start with this. I'm a 37 year old man, I went home to visit my parents for my birthday toward the end of last year, and something about seeing them so much older and frailer (my mom had breast cancer last year; my dad had a heart failure scare) and finding all the relics in my childhood bedroom really knocked me for a loop. I feel completely adrift and unmoored. I haven't grow up to be the person I imagined I'd be when I was younger.
When I was cleaning out my old room, I came across photos and letters from my high school/college ex, and an old hard drive with our chats saved on it. Seeing her, seeing us, I felt ripped wide open. Like the last fifteen years meant nothing. Like I've been living everything since then in black-and-white. We were so damn young and so good together. The casual, easy way we talked, we made each other laugh, we were honest and vulnerable with each other in a way that I'd never been before (or since). We were together for six years, and they were good, happy years, but I was young and stupid and not ready to commit.
Since then, I've gone into a ridiculous, masochistic spiral re-reading her old emails, searching online and clinging to whatever scraps of her life I can find. I recognize this isn't healthy, but I also find it hard to resist. She's now married with a kid, I sent her an email out of the blue for the first time in ten years, and she wrote back almost immediately. She seemed happy to hear from me, but certainly not pining after me or looking to reconnect.
The thing is, on the surface, my life is going pretty well: I have a steady, long-term partner and six figure job in IT, but the job feels soul-crushing and I don't feel connected to my partner the way I now imagine I did with my ex. She's always wanted more commitment (marriage!) more investment from me, and I've never felt like I could give it to her. I've always been the emotionally-withholding one in our relationship.
I feel terrible about myself and I don't understand why anyone would ever want to be with me. But I also have this absurd fantasy that if I could only get back together with my ex (maybe they divorce, or the husband dies suddenly) that it would fix everything. For her, I would be a better man, I would do the chores without grumbling, I would be fully committed with no doubts, I'd be ready to be a father and we'd have a child together, I would love her the way I failed to all those years ago.
I've started seeing a therapist but I'm not sure it's helping. I also started taking NAC. I'm applying semi-randomly for different jobs that seem more interesting or lower-investment than my current one. I've talked about some of this with my partner, but omitting the bit where I constantly fantasize about leaving her for a woman I haven't seen in a decade who wants nothing to do with me.
Basically, I don't know what the fuck I'm doing and I'm throwing all kinds of shit at the wall to see what sticks. Is this just a rough patch, or are the wheels coming off my life?

Just a vent post because I feel fucking insane when I think about it. Probably no advice needed because I've done sooo much boundary setting and codependency group therapy (it's fucking awesome btw) and private therapy and gotten reality checks from my bestie who also has hoarder parents.
Anyway, oh my god I never thought there would be animal poop but I guess I've watched them slowly spiral deeper and deeper. When I was a kid, it was "just messy" and we always had way too many species of bugs. I would know, I was a biologist for a bit, but you probably don't even need to be a biologist to know there were wayyyyy too many kinds of bugs. Then dad's "home renovation projects" never really got completed and there were just holes in the ceilings. And then more holes. Obviously, more bugs. Then appliances started failing. I tried cleaning the dishwasher when I moved home from college so we could actually use it, and it physically fell out of the counter when I opened it because the wood was so rotted. The only toilet downstairs was shut off and now it's filled with mold.
I remember at that level, I was still a little in denial about how bad it was. Then I tried explaining how it "wasn't that bad" to my therapist and I came back down to earth due to the look on her face and listening to myself say those things out loud. After that, and after I kept finding mouse poop stuff from the basement, my literal sole consolation was "thank god we've never had pets larger than a hamster, things would have been so bad". Then my sister fostered puppies and taught them to SHIT INSIDE instead of taking them outside in the winter. And my dad tried to justify it. They didn't even use pee/poop pads. It's actually a really good metaphor for having a narcissistic hoarder family. All they care about is having control over something and hiding their shame from the outside instead of doing anything about it. Inside it's just poop and pee.
So grateful I moved out years ago and don't visit them anymore. Bonus perks of rarely having food poisoning anymore!

Long story short and as much as it sucks to say, I haven't really experienced much of anything. I'm going to intentionally beat around the bush as to what category that "experience" falls under but I think most people should be able to figure it out lol. In other words (and if you play games), I'm a complete noob when it comes to all things girls. As for why those things haven't happened and why I want that to change.. There's a few reasons, but the main reason why I'm putting such an emphasis on this is because I'm a huge homebody and I don't go out much at all which makes it difficult to meet people. That's where Reddit comes in! The message I'm essentially trying to send is becoming physically AND emotionally close with a girl is what I want the most. I want to experience it all; the laughs, excitement, curiosity, intimacy, hanging out, fun. Blame all the Disney movies I watched as a kid for that lol.
Finding someone would be a dream come true, but I also wouldn't mind striking up a friendship at the same time because that also counts as experience! You can never have too many friends. Local or international, just let me know if that's what you want instead :) And I definitely wouldn't be opposed to a relationship. I've obviously never been in one so I'm not exactly sure how to transition to that, haha. I totally wouldn't mind finding out, though :) Also finding someone to say good morning and night too, too! That would be the best even if it's incredibly cheesy 🧀
Anyway, it could be someone of any age with a lot of experience or someone with no experience like me, or introverted or not introverted like me, etc. I don't have a preference either way :) But if I were to be reaaally picky: they'd be sweet and down to earth because just cuddling on its own would be all kinds of cool. I might actually prefer that over doing you know what with a girl :) A bit about me: I'm shy, caring, kind, sweet and am normal in the weight and height categories. I want to say I'm okay in the looks department? 🙈 I'll let you decide that though lol. I think it's super fun learning about people through conversation so I'll leave the following hobbies section blank. Then again, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give a small hint to something I love.. My username should provide clues to that! I Siriusly need to re-watch the movies again. Maybe with someone I meet through r4r?
Alright, I can't hold it in anymore. I pretty much like a little bit of everything. For example, when it comes to music, I go through Backstreet Boys phases to Disney song phases (Moana is awesome and I haven't even seen the movie 🙊) to something like Simple Plan, Paramore or 50 Cent. What I'm trying to say is I like a little bit of everything! So there's a good chance I'll like whatever you like when it comes to hobbies and interests and that means connecting with each other should be relatively natural/seamless. Or maybe that's wishful thinking on my part, haha.
I'm not the best with openers and if you're also in the same boat, then how about this: If you could have any superpower what would it be and how would you use it? Being out of this world smart like Tony Stark is an acceptable super poweanswer, by the way.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading SpacePaladin15's the Nature of Predators series and all of the fanfics as well. I finally had enough inspiration to start writing my own. I haven't written anything like this since college so it has been a while. Please message me with any suggestions and constructive criticisms. I have never written in the 1st person so this is particularly new to me but I hope I stayed mostly true to the format set in the universe. This is only part one of I don't know how many but I have a detailed outline with 6 1/2 pages and this only took me to half a page of that.
I want to give a HUGE shout out to BiasMushroom who let me use some of their news reports, their character Talen, and gave me some direction for my story. I also want to thank YakiTapioca and SavingsSyllabub7788 for letting me use elements from their stories as well.

I opened my eyes to the dimly lit room. Confused, I looked at the blinds, they should be open. My eyes fell onto the cradle. The twins were still sleeping, their tails curled around each other. Glancing at the clock on the bedside table I could see why the blinds hadn’t opened. I still had almost a quarter claw before my usual waking.
My eyes shifted to the photo next to the clock. The day my husband and I celebrated finding out I was pregnant. Conflicting emotions of happiness and melancholy filled my mind. It was a wonderful memory but I couldn’t ignore the empty space next to me. The arxur had killed him before Vissa and Tas were born. With not enough time to go back to sleep and no desire to get up yet either, I reached for my holopad to check Prime News. The Anchor woman was mid-sentence when the feed buffered.
“-minion forces have attacked the research outpost hosting the Venlil-Human Exchange Program. The station defenders were able to defeat the raiding party with no damage to the station at all. We have received reports from the Governors Office that there were no venlil casualties resulting from the battle. However, the humans suffered over a hundred casualties and recovery efforts are ongoing. One fighter with a venlil and human pilots is missing in action. According to a source on the station, this defender was able to heroically lure away two of the arxur raiders and fled towards the Federation border. The whereabouts and well-being of the pilots is unknown. In Governor Tarva’s press release, her office stressed that the lack of venlil casualties was the result of the human copilots telling their venlil pilots to eject or in some cases even forcibly ejecting them in some cases.”
Why would predators save prey? We were nothing in their eyes. I can’t fathom how this played into their schemes. The blinds opened and the alarm went off. The twins stirred and I know it is time to get up and feed them. No more news. Set the holopad down and pick up the twins, check their diapers, nurse them, check their diapers again, play with them, hold them, sleep with them. Things had finally settled into a comfortable routine again.
This last [week] had been so hectic, the invasion sirens, Governor Tarva’s announcement about peaceful predators, and the closed borders. In a single day we became prisoners in our own space and our leader had all but withdrawn us from the federation. We had no protection anymore. Tarva ignored our protests outside her mansion and even encouraged people to talk to the predators. The only sensible thing to happen was the magistrates announcing they would activate all of the current and former extermination officers and increase recruitment. That was only two days. Vissa and Tas were done. I had been playing with them a while when mom called.
“Hi honey, how are you?”
Dad stepped into the frame. “How are the twins?”
I held the holopad over Vissa and Tas on the bed. The two seemed enraptured by the picture.
Dad cooed. “They are so precious.”
“We are doing better each day dad.” I laid on the bed next to Vissa and Tas and held the holopad so that mom and dad could see me and the twins. Tas reached for holopad while Vissa giggled.
Mom spoiled them with attention, wiggling her fingers at the camera, encouraging Tas. “We would love to come visit you and the kids. Oulo has a rest paw coming up soon. We should get their paw prints cast and take them to the park.”
“That sounds like a great idea. I know the twins would love to see you. I still have some extra train rides on my account from my maternity leave. Message me the details and I’ll book you both tickets.”
“You should save those dear, we can manage the tickets.”
I could see the worry in their tails however much they tried to hide it. “Dad, we don’t use the train in the capital. We use the trolley system to get around so I have extra train rides and I would love to have you. You know I could use the extra help with the babies.”
That won them over and it wasn’t a lie. Living in the capital meant we had more options for transportation. Plus, with the predators at their new complex, I haven’t been getting out except to get food or diapers.
“Oh, ok then. We wouldn’t want those to go to waste.” Dad nudged mom with his tail. “Tell her your good news.”
Mom, sat up and smoothed her fur excitedly. “I just got the news that I got the job at Vikki’s Flowers!”
“Mom, that’s wonderful! When do you start?”
“I start in 5 paws. I was honestly surprised they were hiring at all with things how they are.” When Tarva closed the borders, she cut off all trade with the federation and caused an economic crisis like we hadn’t seen in my lifetime.
“That is wonderful news and I hate to cut this short but it is about time to put them down for their nap. Send me the details and I’ll get you the tickets.”
“Rest well sweetie.”
“Goodbye mom, dad. See you soon.”
I ended the call and put the twins in their crib. Vissa was almost asleep already and Tas wasn’t far behind, despite his best efforts.

The alarm started chiming and the blinds opened, flooding the room with light. Vissa and Tas started crying. Checking their diapers needed to be done first. I wish they would stop crying while I changed them. I turned on the news to watch while I fed them. Talen was back and he sported a bandaged head. Did the humans do that? He had only been at the Exchange Program for a couple days. What happened? Talen started his report.
“Breaking news. The venlil and human that have been missing in action since the arxur attack on the outpost station that was hosting half of the Venlil-Human Exchange Program on [August 21st], have made their way back to us in a stolen Federation craft.” Talen sighed. “The human, known as Marcel, was in critical condition, while his partner Slanek was injured but stable. We will now show you a recording of the incident. If you are prone to feinting or other outbursts, please block this show for the next [minute] as the contents of this video are quite disturbing.”
With the twins in my arms, I could not reach the holopad to do anything about the video. Prime news switched to a camera elevated above the humans, who were crowded around the docking bay, craning their necks to see their pilot as the ship finished the docking procedures. Human paramedics rushed through a hole in the crowd as a venlil who I assumed was Slanek, shouted at them and gestured with his tail inside the ship.
The camera zoomed in on the entrance to the craft as the paramedics reemerged with a human on their stretcher. He was hardly recognizable as a human. His body was splotchy and obviously emaciated. His skin was taught and his face. Sun and starts what had the Federation done to him. The camera panned back out as the paramedics whisked him through the hole in the crowd.
Before the video ended, I noticed that the predators backed away from the paramedics as they drew close. Do they fear being hurt like that? Are they trying to help by making more space? Talen returned to the screen.
“What you have seen here is the after effects of Federation torture of their human prisoner. The story that we have so far is that Marcel made a call to lure the arxur attackers away from the outpost, where their ship became disabled and were rescued by Captain Sovlin. Marcel was fitted with an electric shock collar, beaten, and starved for days before Slanek woke from a coma. Slanek was taken to see Marcel in an attempt to convince him that they are savage beasts. When that failed the Federation Captain attempted to feed Slanek to his human partner. Slanek was later able to convince Captain Sovlin’s first officer, Recel, to betray his captain and save Marcel. The trio stole a federation craft and made their way back to Venlil Republic space where Marcel is still in critical condition but being treated.”
The co-host continued, “For those out of there that still believe humans are simply biding their time, or will slip into predatory behavior if they are stressed out, here is proof that even if they are starving to death, they will not attack and attempt to eat a venlil. We have contacted the UN for an official statement on what they plan to do and have been notified they will give an official statement soon. We will continue to cover this story as it unfolds.”
Prime news finished that segment and transitioned to a panel of experts but the twins were done feeding so back in the crib they go while I cleaned up and got ready for the day. A chime alerted me to a new message on my holopad. After showering and drying off, I put Vissa and Tas in a play pen with some toys and checked the Bleat message. It was from, Niit.
“I hope you are doing well Leena. I am sending you a message to let you know that our claws are being cut again due to the lack of Federation trade. There simply isn’t enough traffic but, and this surprised me let me tell you, we will be retrofitting an old Venlil Cruiser. I heard talk that Tarva is trying to increase the number of combat ready ships.
If you ask me, I think she knows something we don’t. The predators are up to something and she has finally figured that out and is preparing for it at the roots. Hopefully, the Federation will forgive us if we give them Tarva to make an example of and send the exterminators in force to Venlil Prime to wipe them out. Paws open. Your friend, Niit.”
Well speh! Losing claws was a problem. I logged into my credit account to check the balance. I sighed in relief and sadness. The military survivor’s benefits were deposited a paw ago. That helps. Doing the math, I think we’ll be fine. Even if they cut me down to a claw and a quarter, I think I can still make it work with the benefits and an old ship retrofit will mean a lot of work for me searching for parts, so that bodes well. All that is left for today is to register Vissa and Tas in a care center. I started a search for local care facilities while I absently played with the twins. Vissa got her claws caught in my fur again. Guess I’ll look when they are napping.

My first day back and there had apparently been some changes. Niit had started to leave her holopad on to streams of Rux Limpbut, an infamous streaming personality, while she filled out work orders. I didn’t think he was wrong necessarily but did he have to be so obnoxious?
“This is it people, I told you it would happen. The humans are invading the Cradle. The humans are slaughtering their way across Gojid territory. And, AND! And what is our esteemed Governor doing about it? She is helping them. She has sent our soldiers into harms way to die for the predator’s conquest. The humans have revealed their true intentions.
They said they came in peace but now they are waging a war of extinction against the Gojid and they are using us to do it. WE KNEW there would be slavery but to force peaceful venlil to commit such atrocities…. I could never have predicted the depths of their depravity. These humans are as bad as the arxur, maybe WORSE, at least you know what to expect with the arxur but with humans they lie and steal and deceive… and they have stolen YOUR government. They have stolen….”
I signaled to Niit to mute the video as I made a call to inquire about a cooling unit for the Cruiser docked in the Capital hangers. When the call was over, Niit immediately unmuted the stream.
“-redators are? I’ll tell you how arrogant the predators are. They think they can convince the federation of their benevolent intentions WHILE THEY ARE SLAUGHTERING THEIR WAY ACROSS THE CRADLE! Only a predator would think that was sane. They claim that they needed to protect themselves, what a load of Speh. If we accept that then they would have reason to kill anyone who dared try to protect themselves. Do you, yes you listener, want to be slaughtered or dismembered, or ripped apart because you picked up your favorite gardening shovel?!
But I’ll tell you what I’m grateful for. I’m grateful the predators are so arrogant. I’m grateful they are sending their chief liar to the Federation Council. They will see what the predators are and see Tarva for the traitor slave she is. They will come and rescue us all. We only need to hold on a little longer. Now if you’re exhausted and spent then you need my endurance booster vitamins. These will give you the strength to power through your fears and hold out for the Federation rescue fleet and at only 30 credits for a whole bottle it is available to all venlil….”
“Niit, please turn it off,” I pleaded.
“He is… too much.”
Niit muted the stream and looked at me signaling sympathy with her tail. “I understand Leena, I do. The predators scare all of us.” She put her hand on my shoulder reassuringly.
I learned from Balan, that ever since the predators had arrived and the borders were closed, she had started listening to Rux and was a stalwart fan.
“You need to be vigilant! These predators could strike us at any moment. You should try Rux’s endurance boosters if you are struggling to keep up with the herd.” She reached into her desk and pulled out a bottle of the advertised pills and handed me one.
“I can give you one so you can see how good they are. I recommend buying the bulk pack. You save 5 credits per bottle.” She watched me expectantly.
With no other option, I swallowed the pill. I didn’t feel any different. “Thanks, Niit. I hope it helps.”
She waved her tail satisfied, “It will don’t worry.”
The ride to the care center was a short one. It was a happy coincidence that I had found a care center so close to the space port. The time saved commuting was enough that I did not have to pay for a full two claws of time. Still would have preferred that Governor Tarva had not closed the borders but I would take any blessings I could and Young Pups had a good reputation around the Spaceport. Vissa and Tas were fussy today and it was difficult to keep them awake before we got home. When I finally put them to bed and lay next to them the day finally caught up to me. It is nice that I have a break paw when I wake. I should take the pups to the park down the road. They would like that.

Police were initially informed because there was a child protection issue (I told him to f^ck off for hitting my younger sister), but they didn’t do anything. If anything, I was told off for wasting their time by a careless Police Officer. This woman was so rude that she actually made me cry, and told me to just ‘talk to my mum’ when I told her I had reason to believe my brother and sister were at risk. Nor was she interested in the £2000 of belongings that my stepdad had stolen from my bedroom, moved 2hrs away, and tampered after I was kicked out. I say stolen because A) he didn’t pay for any of them B) he obviously had no intent of giving them back, and was open about the fact that it was a ‘negotiating tool’ to get me to speak to him and my mum again..
I’m now involved with social services for the kids, so that bit is being dealt with.
However, my belongings..
I started a case 28/2 for police assistance to remove my belongings - still hadn’t heard anything by Friday 24/3 so I called to ask where we were at. I was assured that it was being dealt with, and then woke up Monday 27/3 to a message saying they’d closed my case and to just get ‘family and friends’ to help out.
I’m 17 and I’ve told the authorities repeatedly that my parents are abusive, unsafe and have blocked anybody I know.
I’ve opened a new case after going to the station again, I asked to speak to the duty sergeant but was told it was ‘appointment only’ - pretty sure if you’re on duty you’re supposed to be available! They reopened the case under a new ref but have said ‘give it a week and if you haven’t heard anything come back’.
It’s been a week, my patience is wearing so thin. I want to report the way my case has been handled, does anyone know how I would do this?

As I've been doing surveys for a few years now, I figured I’d share some of my top survey sites as well as a couple of typical questions I’m asked by friends and family.   • Withdrawals are paid every Monday (if submitted by Sunday)
• Cons:
  • Survey numbers can be a bit inconsistent. Some weeks I've gotten over $40 worth of surveys and in others, I've gotten $5 worth.
  • Have had some technical issues with some surveys in the past. That said support has always been quite helpful and I've almost always got paid in full for my surveys.
  • $20 minimum withdrawal amount (to your bank accounts).

Humaniti ($15 per hour of surveys)

• Pros:
  • Similar rate to Octopus; quite an underrated site that isn't used as much as it should!
  • Decent $5 signup bonus by using my referral link.
  • Quiet quick payout times. Despite saying it may take up to 30 days I've never had to wait longer than 3 days to receive money when I withdraw.
  • Also has an inbuilt budgeting/money management app. I'd recommend linking an old bank account for extra surveys.
• Cons:
  • App and surveys can be a bit buggy at times.
  • Similarly to Octopus, survey quantity can be inconsistent.
  • $20 minimum withdrawal amount (to your bank accounts).

Prolific ($10-$18 per hour of surveys)

• Pros:
  • Decent payout rates! Paid in GBP (which equates to about $1.7 AUD per GBP. This can be converted into AUD and transferred to your bank account from Paypal.
  • Quite a decent amount of surveys. Good to keep the website open in the background and check somewhat regularly if you can. You'll get notified about some of the larger studies/surveys. Have been able to earn about £60 in the past couple of months.
  • Actually somewhat interesting surveys. Unlike most surveys, some of these are actually quite fun and engaging e.g. behavioral/psychometric ones.
  • Paid out instantly.
• Cons:
  • No mobile app, have to check quite regularly on their website to get the best surveys. Typically have it open in the background at work.
  • Potentially long wait time to be accepted to take surveys. Really depends on your demographics and if they're in high demand; took me a couple of months but took some friends a few mins.
  • Quite a few profiling questions you'll need to answer before you start receiving a decent amount of surveys.
  • No referral/signup bonus.
  • $5 GBP minimum withdrawal (to Paypal).

Pure profile ($9.8 per hour of surveys)

Firstly, what does the timeline look like for transfer admissions to join in sophomore fall? When do applications open, when are the general deadlines, and when do decisions come out? Also, I saw that UChicago has transfer ED — do all/most schools have that or is that unique to Chicago?

Yesterday I was at my boyfriends and I asked him to show me some photos on his computer about a place he visited, when he opened his folder a whole bunch of pregnant porn came up. We’ve both discussed we do not want kids etc. these women also look nothing like me, it’s made me feel weird he likes pregnant women since I can’t understand it.

I haven't seen this discussed on this subreddit much, but maybe it is. The declining birthrate is impacting education across the board in Japan. This is a story about a rural junior high school in Japan that closed this March after it's final class of TWO students graduated:

Now that piece talks about the impact in rural Japan, but I can assure you that it's happening in urban areas as well, and it will only continue to accelerate. I live in Osaka, and within 10 minutes' walk of where I live two high schools have closed down in the past 8 years-and one of them had only been opened since the 1980s. I went on a tour with some of my faculty members once of regional kindergartens; facilities that had been built to house ten classes were down to a single class of 20 kids or so-and that was in 2014. I can promise you it's only getting worse.
Even universities are not safe; those who have been here long enough and have been paying attention will already know this, but smaller 2-4 faculty universities started closing back in the 2000s; that number will only increase. The university I teach at had approximately 5000 students in the 1990s; today the number stands at just over 500. In the past two years we've closed the junior college, the dormitory and lost about half the teaching staff. I do not think it will last another five years, and I am already planning for my life after education in Japan once my job ends. Because it's going to.
For those of you thinking about coming to Japan, do not plan on coming here long-term if education is your only option. ALTs are increasingly being sourced from other Asian countries; one of my students who graduated last year and who's teaching in Shiga told me that all the ALTs at her school are from India, and that many of the schools in her area also employ a lot of Indian ALTs. The answer why is obvious; as the education system contracts, the competition for BoE contracts by dispatch companies will increase, and their response is to find people who are willing to work for ever-lower salaries in order to keep their profits as high as possible while being competitive for as long as possible. Eikaiwas won't fare much better-fewer people will mean fewer people interested in taking recreational English "lessons".
For those of you who think you're safe because you're a direct hire/have a special teaching license and are employed in the private education system you're no more safe than anyone else. Just three weeks ago I was talking to a liaison officer at a private high school in Chiba; 15 years ago they had a thousand students; today it's 450. That story is by no way unique. The fate of the private school system will be the same as that of the public one: amalgamation and/or closure.
The situation is grim, it's only going to get worse and whether you're married in over here with a family or not you'd better start thinking of a contingency about what you're going to do when-and not if-you lose your source of income.

I have been raised by a narcissistic mom who never believed me but always believed strangers. She never supported my life choices (hobbies, education, lifestyle, religion...). For example, I've had a deep passion for music for as long as I can remember, I could sing and wanted to learn playing an instrument so bad, my mother who could sing too and had the same passion but never had the opportunity to learn music told me it's a waste of time and that I should focus on my studies instead.
I have always been a bright student and had the best grades but it wasn't enough. Besides, my mother is a pretentious conservative. She would shame me for playing with my male friends even when I was a kid and says that only "naughty people" play music.
I have also loved sports but again because the coach was often a male she often told me that it's inappropriate and would convince my father not to let me do it. Growing up, I was a little chubby and she also shamed me for that (she was also a little overweight). She would pinch me from my butt saying that I'm disgusting.
She would also spy on me all the time and would always invade my personal space. Sometimes she would intentionally open the door on me when I'm taking my clothes off.
It was difficult for me to make friends and trust people in general. I've been in a couple of long term relationships that resulted in me breaking up with them but I would say I was young and immature.
Now, I'm almost 25, financially independent and live on my own. I have been in a relationship for more than 3 years. My partner has the most wonderful family and I constantly feel that he is more emotionally stable than I am which affects my self esteem and always makes me feel like a burden in the relationship. Things have gotten worse since my father's death. I would often experience emotional outbursts, I get triggered easily which created a lot of drama. I also have a hard time believing that my partner really wants to be with me especially that we've been in a LDR for 6 months now.
Last Wednesday, I had one of these emotional outbursts and told my bf that our relationship has to end. He was in shock and refuses to listen me or reply to my texts. I regret breaking up but I truly believe that all of this had happened because of my insecurities and childhood traumas. I tried explaining that to him and tell him that I'm trying to heal and move on with my life but he refuses to answer me. I have been devastated ever since and I believe that I will never heal from what my mom did to me and that I will end up alone because of her.
One of the reasons why she is affecting the relationship is that my partner and I are not yet ready to make our relationship official. However, she's been pressuring me and saying that she would never forgive me if I move on with him before getting married which could make it more difficult for me to join him. Part of me believes that I should not listen to her and do whatever makes me happy, the other part is terrified of her reaction.

I’m a 17 year old male that really wants to write a book. I have a couple reasons to and I just want to share it with strangers. I have been struggling with mental health for a couple years now. Depression, derealization, depersonalization. I have been questioning the world so much since I was a young kid that eventually it got to a point where I started to question my own existence. As this continued on I began to lose myself to my own thoughts. I lost myself. I felt like my mind was outside of my body and I wasn’t truly there. It was on and off and always there if I didn’t have something to distract me. I think a lot of this was also caused from smoking way too much weed every single day. But that was only a small fraction of the time that I struggled. In fact weed saved me when I was first depressed. It helped me see the beauty in my life but eventually I think it destroyed me. That’s not the main point but I think detail is important since this is about me. I struggled with this for months and stopped having the derealization. But I still didn’t know myself. I eventually got over this by taking shrooms (do not bash me for being 17 and doing shrooms it’s a 1 time experience at an attempt to help better myself) And it worked. I researched shrooms for months and wanted to try them so bad. I heard it was bad to do them in the dark, look in the mirror, and bad if you had a bad mentality. I am very confident in my ability to control my mind because I feel as if I have so much knowledge. I am extremely open minded and not scared of anything that I can think of. I’m sure if someone pointed a gun at me I’d be scared but I have no immediate things that scare me at the thought. So because of this I was confident in my ability to take the shrooms and use them to better myself. I took 3.5g for my first time and I was alone. It’s a lot for a first timer and especially while being alone but i wasn’t afraid cause I was confident. During my trip I could feel my soul and consciousness being pulled into my body. I looked in the mirror and became captivated by me and the essence of my own life and learned to truly love myself, I listened to music as it connected with me spiritually and I could really feel a new self image of myself being born. It felt like my entire consciousness had been rewoven. All of my questions were answered. I learned that life is everything and everything is life. A good way to describe this is by saying that the laundry in the hamper is life because it makes up part of my life. Without it my life would be different. As being part of my life that gives it some life itself. With this new ideology, view on life, and this new self image, I want to do amazing things. I’ve always wanted to before and I knew I had the potential. But now I want to truly act. One of the ways I’d like to act on it is to write a book just for me to look back on in the future and accurately remember what it was like to live my life. Another reason I want to write a book is because how cool is it to say that you wrote a book. I plan to be a very successful person and I feel like this could help butterfly effect my life to the way I want it to be in the future. My life has so much to offer and I want to create an amazing memoir to document it. Any tips would be amazing. Any input too. I just want to see how people interact with this post. Does anyone have tips for achieving winged liner on an open eye? The left side of my face was paralyzed by a stroke and I can’t close my left eye independent of my right eye so it’s either both eyes closed or both eyes open, I can’t close the left eye while keeping the right open to watch myself apply a winged liner to the left eye for example. I can barely achieve a simple smudged liner on the outer corner of my eyelid while keeping both eyes open. I used to wear a winged liner every day before my stroke and I miss how I looked. I’m trying to recapture who I used to be and I can’t even apply a simple wing which should be easy as pie for a girl that did it every day for years! I think what adds to my problem is that I have pretty heavily hooded lids that get in the way of my lid space where I want to apply my liner! The crashing it creates next to my eye while open also makes it next to impossible to achieve a straight crisp wing. I’ve considered trying a winged liner stamp even though I hate true liners. I always used to use a small angled brush and a dark brown shadow to line my eyes I prefer the feel of eyeshadow to crispy liquid liner and every pencil liner I try just smudges almost immediately and is completely gone by the end of the day or within a matter of an hour or two. I’ve considered trying to teach my boyfriend to do a winged look while I just sit there with both eyes closed but even my talented girlfriends have never been able to achieve a suitable wing on my hooded eyes in the past. It takes a very specific shape to flatter my eyes they are quite round I think (I like to try and elongate them) and my heavy hooded lids quickly ruin most attempts at a winged liner even when done by my very talented friends. I can’t even live my right eye on my own to at least give him an example of what I would want.
I feel like a dreaded wing stamp is my only option. I just want my body back!!!
Never do cocaine kids! I was an addict and it heavily contributed to me having a stroke at the young age of thirty. My doctor said it’s a real problem and more and more young people are having strokes these days because of cocaine use

Despite experiencing more “weirdos”, I prefer the initial veil of anonymity, I am after all “taken” but in a DB/monotonous situation that allows me to pursue and fill a void where I deserve it. Prefer: You’re monogamous, single with grown kids or married in unique DB situation as well. NO poly, pervy or bi men or guys busy with toddlers please & thanks.
Ideally I would love to meet a man who considers himself “traditional” when it comes to how he treats his woman (probably why I prefer older men now that I think of it: 50+), but is modern and wise enough to respect and understand why I feel justified in even being here…. it’s important to note this is supposed to be a judgement -free zone, my spouse and I have a loving friendship, no kids, opposite work schedules and I have bent over backwards more than once to maintain our union- and I am, so now what? Now, I’ll continue to pursue my personal goals which include meeting a very special new friend because life is absolutely too short not to.
More basics about me; I’m usually the most fun person in any room and I can have fun without any intoxication whatsoever. I love culture, am A foodie who can cook, love live sports, art galleries, beaches, Sexy lounges, fishing, swimming, yoga, Rock climbing, mild pda, thoughtful surprises and countless sweet nothings. I’m open to Try almost anything once (minus uber-kinky stuff lol- I mean FUN Experiences!)
I can juxtapose between a ball cap and sneakers to a low cut gown with ease, tan skin, all natural, 5’3” curvy but HWP. I’m what many people refer to as “exotic” but I am often misjudged and that’s another reason I enjoy making a genuine connection BEFORE shallow details are even considered.
