I could tell that my dad was sick. He was loosing weight and was obviously very ill. I really tried to help for a while but he never told me the full extent of his illness. He was in liver failure. He was an alcoholic and had quit getting treatment for a genetic disorder. He refused to let me come to his home to help or do shopping, etc. He did let me start bringing him dinner daily although I later found it all in his kitchen uneaten. He must have felt so sick in the end. His house was a disaster, his dogs thin, he was unable to get up after a fall. He was dead weeks later and I feel so guilty. We were never close. He was in the military and he moved a lot....but I moved from several states away to try to help him. He wouldn't let me but I didn't push the issue. I never asked him twice after he said no to an offer. I miss my dad. I feel like I failed him. Now I am drunk. The guilt is awful. I should have done more.

Basically I appealed a case to the high court . I filled the paperwork electronically and it just stuck pending approval for months and when it was finally approved ; I didn't have any response for months. In total from filling to appeal decision 11 months.
Anyhow , The judge ordered me to oddly to (stick with me for a minute:

1. File an appellants notice 2.Transcript from the lower court
2. Amended grounds of appeal and skeleton argument.
3. There was no clear date for compliance on the order at all

The language on the order made it clear the appeal couldn't proceed without those things So I emailed the court back that day with my case number and name and stated clearly I would do those things .
Anyhow I was producing the paperwork requested and one day I see the decision (via email) had been made on paper and dismissed (I can't ask for an oral hearing).
I was given no notice that the appeal would be held or that It was going to proceed without the amended paperwork; even though they asked for these things because they said the appeal couldn't proceed otherwise.

Today the kpopthoughts mod team and I would like to talk to you guys about an important topic that’s going on with reddit at the moment. I am especially passionate about this topic as I pretty much only ever have used reddit through a (fantastic) third party app. Other mods on the team also exclusively access reddit on mobile through a third party app. I’m sure some of you guys as well use third party apps, and if so, you may have already heard about this. For those completely unfamiliar with this topic and why it is so important for this website, please read on.

Okay, what’s going on?

API Pricing
Recently, Reddit announced drastic changes to their API pricing. In short: APIs are what third party apps, including bots, rely on to work. What Reddit is doing, is driving up the prices of their API usages to insane heights, making it impossible for the devs of third party apps to pay for them and thus are unable to keep their app running. For example, Apollo would be forced to pay upwards of $20 million USD/year.

Safety tools for subreddits
This is bad! Why is this bad? Because the official app and website lack a lot of functionalities for moderators. A lot of mods, if not the majority, rely on third party tools and bots to moderate subreddits. For example, there are bots that are specifically created to seek out and remove (NSFW) spam or help discover illegal pornographic content.
When these tools cease to exist, our subreddits will be vulnerable when it comes to anti-spam and user safety. One of the most important mod tools around, toolbox, are also unsure of their future.

Will this affect me and how?

If you are currently browsing Reddit on a third party app, you will no longer be able to do so if this change goes through on July 1st. If you are already using the official app, this will probably not personally affect you.
However, we are most likely going to see some important subreddits close if their moderators are no longer able to keep their users safe from harmful (NSFW) content, spam or if they simply don’t want to use Reddit without their favorite app. Every subreddit is plagued with (NSFW) spam and trolls, even ours. Reddit is not equipping moderators with tools to combat these on their own.
Old Reddit
Another topic entirely, but also important, is that the general consensus seems to be that these changes are being enforced so reddit users are forced to use the official app. There they are able to track your data, show you unlimited ads and basically do whatever they want - nothing of it with your best interests at heart, which is what third party apps have always been doing. Furthermore, this suggests the removal/discontinuation of old.reddit.com.

Can we stop this?

Hundreds of communities are being vocal about how much they disagree with this change, asking them to reconsider and recognize the important role third party apps play in keeping this website alive. I encourage you to read this open letter which further elaborates on the topic:

Additionally, there are talks of a 24h Reddit blackout in other subreddits, which have worked in the past. They are however highly disruptive to the community but if Reddit doesn't back down on this, we will be participating in this as well.

How wide spread would their fame be? Or restricted to Rome?
Would competent fighters chase fame, applying to become gladiators in hope that they would become a celebrity?

My girlfriend broke up with me. I’m telling myself it’s okay and hanging onto hope that she’ll live up to reaching out when she’s better. We both have mental health issues (I’ve never been formally seen or diagnosed by a doctor).
If things don’t work out I want to end it. Im too old to start over from scratch and have anxiety issues so dating isn’t easy.

Star Trek: Lower Decks characters crossing over into Strange New Worlds doesn't require an in-universe explanation. Simply put, Lower Decks' Mariner and Boimler do not live in a 'cartoon universe' and they are not aware they are animated characters. Lower Decks is set in the same Star Trek universe as Strange New Worlds and both are officially part of canon. The key difference is perception; the fact that Lower Decks is animated is merely a medium for the show, just as live-action is the medium of Strange New Worlds. Neither of them 'turn into animation' to appear on Lower Decks or Prodigy, nor are they different characters living in a different canon in the animated series. Whether animated or live-action, all of the Star Trek TV series are part of the same continuous canon.
By the nature of being animated series, Star Trek: Lower Decks enjoys a faster pace of relentless comedy while Star Trek: Prodigy can have sweeping outer space adventures and fascinating character designs that even the live-action shows can't quite duplicate. But overall, this is just both shows taking advantage of their particular mediums to deliver Star Trek that is distinctive from the live-action series. But Lower Decks and Prodigy incorporate legacy characters like Admiral Janeway or guest stars like Lt. Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeil) and continue their stories from live-action. And using a project/knowledge management tool to tackle your day-to-day feels a bit unnatural/overwhelming. For anyone with a busy calendar, this is a game changer! It’s one of those obvious features that once you’ve tried it, you’re going to wonder how the heck has no calendar app done this before.
4. Space for (private) notes for each task/event to help with preparation/recall. We’ve found that our notes app is chock-full of random single-page (sometimes single-sentence) entries with no additional context. A lot of times these are related to something that's happening in our life at that point in time (whether a calendar event or a task). So we decided to put together a “scratchpad” to let you write something within the context of the task/event. You can export these notes to your favorite app if needed or just leave them on your timeline for future reference.
5. Event discovery and inspiration Part of what makes planning challenging is the “what”. With so much happening in the world (and locally) that might interest us, it’s so easy for things to slip. There are thousands of websites with lists of things to do, but they are not aware of our time (or our interests), making it a catch-22. So we decided to bring these two worlds closer together by adding event discovery directly in the app, where you can one-tap add them to your calendar. We currently support local events (certain geo’s only), live sports and many special interests categories like release dates, social media events and so on. We plan to enrich our sources over time (any recommendations most welcome).
6. Beautiful and thoughtful design We’ve been extremely considerate with every design detail in the app, however big or small. Right from the go, we were determined to not build just another calendar. There are many of those — arguably too many — and so we weren’t motivated to simply make up the numbers. The goal has been to build something different better. A genuine alternative. Admittedly we have not always balanced those two priorities equally with initial versions perhaps being too opinionated resulting in a too unfamiliar experience. However, with the help of early users (as well as inspiration from other apps, notably the Camera), we’ve re-iterated a ton and — although there’s still ways to go — we think we’re on the way to accomplishing our objective: something fresh but still familiar.

We have so much more planned but we couldn’t wait any longer to share what we have with this community. We know you have good taste so hopefully you’ll check us out and we can build this next phase together – and apologies for the long-ish post :)

So I am a good warzone player, I have been playing fortnite for 1 month now and got a lot of wins already (solos duo, trios, and ranked - surprised me with the amount of wins to be honest and KD.
I only play zero build, I’ve got use to what guns are good etc and utility/health.
I think the only things for me to touch up on is map locations, sounds stupid … but vehicle use, aim and that’s about it.
Is there any other tips that can advance me faster that I’m not thinking of here.

Hi I'm 23f and I've been diagnosed with adhd just last yr. Due to this most of the things I do are like just me pushing through everything until the way I'm bs-ing through life is not enough anymore. I just read through what I wrote and its super long idk if it will hold yall's attention but I HOPE I CAN GAIN SOME INSIGHTS HERE HUHUHUHUHUHU.
Anyway I just started with my meds just about 2 months ago. I was given Ritalin LA 20mg (methylphenidate HCI) and have seen some improvements with me like the way I focus with my schoolworks and such but for a while now I feel like its starting to not be effective?? Idk if its the placebo effect of me having this belief with the meds like "this med will change my life! This is very effective and will help me tons with my adhd!!" wearing off or if its just me not being good enough that even the meds can't help me from catching up to my peers.
There's also the issue of me being scared of my doctor. I mean she's a great doctor she's super well known if I remember correctly she was one of the like leading psychiatrist in my university's hospital. Actually found her through a uni article where she spoke about mental health and stuff. Because of this I think thats the reason why she's super strict about things since she also have a reputation to protect in our uni. The psych of our uni-wide student clinic who gives out the approval for students who took leave of absence due to mental health and wanted to go back to classes immediately approved of me when she knew who my doctor was bc she said they were co-workers back then and knows her work and ethics. Anyway idk if they're important stuff for context but tbh I just got sidetracked. She's super nice don't get me wrong I feel comfy with her but there's this authority thingy here that I'm scared of. I was raised to fear authority as they should be respected and follow figures of authority and rn I have this respect/fear on people who I know have power over me. ANYWAY THE REAL POINT HERE is that I'm scared to tell her that my meds are not enough????? But then what if she says I'm relying to much on the meds? But i know and think I'm not tho because I know its not a magical pill that will cure me, just help me a bit just like depression meds. I'm the one who will do most of the work but theres this feeling that its not enough? Or maybe I'm the one thats not enough? Idk I don't trust myself now when I got diagnosed with adhd bc i feel like I do things wrong or I'm not normal. Not that I'm saying we adhd people are not normal!! I've watched hockey for decades but only now started to pay attention to off ice portions of the sport. As the title states how does his stuff gain so much wide spread attention when it's basically all made up?

This episode opens with Laura, Albert and Andy all rejoicing about school being let out for the summer. Pretty funny to hear Andy chant "No more teacher's dirty looks" when the teacher is his own mother. Take that Alice! You know Walnut Grove must be a boring town when the kids all race off to see Kezia first thing. Harriet looks on and yawns, which is totally the appropriate action for this event. Inside the Post Office, Kezia is serving as Postmistress-Of-The-Day. She is opening other people's mail (which is actually a federal offense, played for laughs -- natch) when the kids burst in and announce they can come see her nearly every day. Now I would personally rather fall down a never ending flight of stairs, but that's just me. Over at the Mercantile, Harriet informs the fams that she has started the process of buying a summer place to get away from the insanity of WG. The next thing we see is a crudely made "Lake Kezia" sign with the kids fishing in a canoe as Kezia bellows on. How the heck did this woman inherit a lakeside house? Is she squatting? And how is it that this previously homeless woman who is unemployed most of the time still has a better house than Charles? Bandit looks positively freaked out with the crow on his head. Shut up you old crow (and I'm not referring to the bird either). Later, the kids are lazing on the lawn, still feeling the effects from an all-you-can-eat fish fry as Kezia prattles on about all of her dead husbands and Loch Ness monsters. Kezia outlived 5 husbands? I think the authorities might like to have a word with her. Just then, a government official arrives and Kezia threatens him with her harpoon (which I'm pretty sure is another federal offense). Seems as if Kezia is a tax evader, yet another crime. The official informs Kezia that the taxes have been paid by the new owner, which turns out to be Harriet. Over at the Garvey homestead, everyone bemoans the situation with Andy stating Kezia should be exempt from paying taxes. A similar situation plays out at the Ingalls. The time has come for the transition of power as Harriet arrives with Nellie and Willie. Kezia threatens to kill Mrs. Oleson. This is a family show, mind you. Reverend Alden is also here, attempting to play moderator, which goes very badly for him. He's not very good at reading a room. Eventually, Kezia caves as she has no legal right to the property. Harriet graciously allows her to stay on as the hired help in exchange for room and board.
The "Lake Kezia" sign is now replaced by an elegant looking "Lake Harriet" sign. Harriet yelling "Ke-zee-UHHHH! Bring refreshments for my guests." is one of those things that needs to be heard to be appreciated. Kezia comes out of the shed in uniform. Harriet cracks the whip on her and orders her to feed her 12 guests. Later, the kids and Kezia devise a plan to scare Harriet off the property by making up a Loch-ness type monster in the lake, complete with Albert making noises from some distance away for added effect. Harriet, Nellie & Willie all get woken up by the noises and go out to find Kezia, who spreads some fake news about the source. I think it's supposed to be early morning here, but it looks like late evening outside. Harriet sees through the malarkey and threatens to fire Kezia if she continues with the charade.
Laura heads over to the Mercantile, where she offers up the usual lie about needing things for a "school project", which includes tacks, glue, burlap sack and Roman candles. Nels graciously just donates the things. Yes, Laura just tricked an unwitting Nels into handing over a bunch of things that will be used to scare his wife off the property that she legitimately paid for. That takes real chutzpah. That night, Andy shows some skill at pitting his parents against each other (sort of) by convincing his mother to take down Jonathan's moose head (yet another thing that will be used in the shenanigan). The next day..and in order to further create the illusion of a monster, Laura, Albert & Andy all go underwater while Harriet, Nellie and Willie are playing in the lake and nip at their heels. Laura bites Harriet's foot. That's No Man's Land. Kezia continues to spread alternative facts.
Full Moon Friday has arrived, which means the monster will be making an appearance tonight. Kezia continues to taunt Harriet. Harriet orders Willie back to town to get a shotgun. Willie does as he's told, but Nels loads it with blanks, much to Laura's relief. Harriet, Nellie and Willie are eating supper at the table. Kezia is in the Alice Nelson role of having to prepare the meal while subsequently not being allowed at the table while the family eats. More noises are heard as Harriet and the kids go out to investigate. They find "the monster", which is actually Albert, Laura and Andy all taking up a section of the creature, with the moose head from earlier in front. Harriet shoots at it a couple of times, at which point the Roman candles go off. I'm pretty sure no living thing has sparks coming out of its nostrils, but it does the trick nevertheless. Harriet, Nellie & Willie all run for the hills. Unusual moment as the kids all come in the house with their wet underwear on and hug Kezia. Nels gets in a scare of his own for laughs. Kezia would disappear right after this (and rightfully so).
