2023.06.04 09:46 loserbaby_ A stinkin’ morning

Guys. You cannot make this shit (pun fully intended) up. I need to share because I have to laugh or I might just cry…
My husband and toddler both currently have a stomach bug, for reference. This is important to the story.
So it’s Sunday morning, I’m making pancakes, toddler is happy, life is good. My dog walks into the kitchen and just… does a poo. On the kitchen floor. My fully trained dog decided that today was the day to just poo on the kitchen floor for whatever reason. Pancakes paused, I ask my husband to clear it up whilst I keep our toddler away. No biggie, just a quick break. Floor cleaner and I crack on with the pancakes, that is until I hear my name said in a tone that I can only explain as indicative of sheer horror. I turn around and see my husband and toddler literally covered in poo. My toddler has exploded everywhere, out of her nappy, all down her leg, covering her feet, all on the floor, all over my husbands legs. So pancakes paused again, toddler whisked away to the shower, toddler subsequently stunned by having a shower at 7:30am on a Saturday before breakfast and very loudly letting us know that she’s pissed off about it, floor cleaned and disinfected (again), husband washed and toddler in a clean nappy and clothes, Finally, I think, time for pancakes. How wrong could I be you ask? Very wrong, because in that that moment, my husband attempts a fart that goes very wrong and shits himself. Not a little bit, like a whole poo. My whole grown human husband who has never shat himself before, shat himself.
I just wanted my pancakes man 🥲

2023.06.04 09:44 Lovegasoline Time for a New Canister Filter ... Input Appreciated

I have a 37 gallon tank for a 6-7" shell Red Ear Slider. I've been using a Rena/Filstar - XP3/XPL canister filter for about 16-17 years (rated for approx. 100 gallons I believe). I've replaced some o-rings and gaskets and one impeller. Not long ago one of the molded-in attachment points for the motohead clamps broke so I have a bar clamp to temporarily keep the motor assembly tight to the canister to prevent leaks. Another of the four molded-in attachment points has also partially broken, but is still (just barely) usable. I'm reluctant to drop $75+/- for a replacement canister in this discontinued filter. So I'm considering a replacement.
(Yes, the tank is unfortunately a little small for him due to the apartment's space limitations).
I'm thinking it may be worthwhile to just buy a new canister filter. The XP3 has served well, can be a little noisy at times when it traps air at times (often due to low water level in the canister and/or vapor lock issues), the aforementioned broken attachment point for the clips is a design weakness, poorly implemented, and not robust or confidence inspiring. One of the inner basket handles snapped, not a functional issue. It's a pretty basic and simple in both build and quality ... I'd like to see some things made more robust ... but that's my impression from a general design vantage point a I have no experience whatsoever with any other filter.
What's considered a very good canister filter these days? Quiet is good but reliability, user friendliness, and ease of maintenance (disassembly/cleaning/etc.) are paramount. Although a filter that requires more frequent attention and routine maintenance isn't a problem for me, occasionally I need a friend to be a turtle caretaker if I'm out of town, which may require cleaning the filter, changing sponges, etc. then reassembling and getting things up and running properly with minimum fuss. A finicky, poorly designed, difficult to clean/disassemble/reassemble filter, or one that requires too tinkering will just exacerbate things.
Rock solid reliable, high built quality, easy to maintenance, and user friendly without requiring advanced mechanical aptitude to operate?
-The Fluval FX4 looks fantastic ... however the canister is way too wide for my built-in cabinet. Perhaps could build a new cabinet but it would be way wider than is optimal for my limited apartment space. So regrettably I think I'll pass in this one (unless I get a room and cabinet design epiphany).
-Fluval 407 looks interesting. Any user feedback on this? Weaknesses? Problems? Disappointments? Could Riley get a new one for $175ish (ebay) - $225.
-Eheim Classic 600 Canister Filter 2217. I'm unfamiliar, ilair but just read something on this apparently a simple very old design with no frills. Would this fit my criterion? Would a relative n00b be able to manage maintaining this if I'm away? Can be had for $125 new on Amazon.
-Eheim Pro 4+ 600? $225ish. Know nothing about it.
Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

2023.06.04 09:41 2bitDO Open concept entryway

SO and I recently moved into this apartment and we are looking for ideas about what to do with this entryway and open space. We would ideally like to put a bench and possibly a console table somewhere here. Hard to decide what will work with these hardwood floors. Design-wise we are going for more of a mid century modern look. Currently waiting on our sofa which will go against the dividing wall closest to the main entry and media table/TV which will be against the kitchen wall, if that helps. Open to any suggestions at this point. TIA

What You Get: MODULE 1: The Presuppositional Playbook Psychology The most fundamental difference in face to face, vs virtual selling is the absolute need to have the prospect be pushing for the sale. They must be the one driving for the solution. They have to want it more than you do. They have to be more engaged in the process than they are face to face. When you sell virtually the more you talk, the worse your close rates will be. When you are sitting with a prospect together, it’s easy to have the momentum of the meeting and the relationship you’ve developed together carry the sale to the finish line. This does not happen virtually. There is a distance, a void between you and the prospect that is easy for them to take your information and disappear, taking it to another advisor they know better. Presuppositional Selling does two important things. First, it structures the sales interaction in such a way that the prospect discovers intrisically the problems, pains, gains, and desire for a solution. One of the most powerful ways P2 selling works is helping the prospect see what they have not seen before. It changes context. It changes the frame. The Crucial 1st Appointment The first appointment in the leverage point that determines the success or failure of your entire sales process. Do a poor first appointment by talking too much, or ‘spilling your candy in the lobby’ and you’re doomed. Prospects won’t show up on the next call, and they will be lost and gone forever. There is an art and a science to doing the first appointment effectively and you’ll see exactly how to do it right. It starts with our 13 steps first appointment playbook. In this playbook you’ll get:
  • How to steamroll the first 6 common objections you may receive at the beginning of a first appointment.
  • How to create authority in the first 30 seconds of a first appointment, by doing the EXACT opposite of what your prospect expects…and what every other salesperson does.
  • The Credibility Transfer: How to use “borrowed credibility” to get your prospects to trust you—even if they don’t know who you are.
  • The PLI “Power Switch” Principle that flips the power dynamic, so YOU are perceived to have the power (and not the prospect).
  • The One Eyed Man principle that STOPS the prospect from treating you like a salesperson.
  • RAPID SUCCESS IN JUST 20 MINUTES: Learn how to do a first appointment in just 20 minutes over the phone, no technology needed.
  • The Decision Matrix: This is the most critical part of the entire sale…and it’s made right here. (Most producers hit only 1 out of the 4 keys to the decision matrix and it costs them sales constantly.)
  • STOP THE HATERS: How to ensure competitors, incumbents, and other ‘characters’ don’t blow up your sales with bad advice to your clients. (PLEASE, if you do nothing else, learn this critical component to stop losing deals needlessly!)
  • The “golden thread of motivation”: This is the thread that holds the entire sale together. When a prospect forgets why they called, why they are meeting with you, or why they are buying, you will fail in closing the sale.
  • The “Fried Chicken Rule”that ensures your prospect is engaged and selling themselves, not tuning out.
  • How to set ROCK SOLID second appointments to ensure you never get a ‘no show’ on your next appointment.
  • The SOLUTION step: How to ensure you are sharing just enough to whet their appetite and create burning curiosity for the next appointment to get them coming back for more, (while being 100% compliant!)

2023.06.04 09:38 sarcasticcoffeevibes You know what two things really irk me about some people in HK?

Thing No. 1:
Someone presents their dish. They seem pretty confident and cheerful about it.
Gordon doesn't like it. As in, he physically spits it out it's that bad.
The contestant: Uh oh! Silly me! Whoopsie! Oh no! 🤪
Like bro take it with a modicum of professionalism.
Thing No. 2
This is almost the complete opposite of Thing No. 1 but it still annoys me.
Contestant cracks a joke, takes something lightheartedly, or simply does something or makes something that Gordon doesn't like.
The absolute most uptight 'serious' contestant of the season: Are you kidding bro? We're not here to joke around, this is Hell's Kitchen, no room for being even remotely happy here.
Cheer the fuck up man.

2023.06.04 09:37 Ekocare Only In The West, Only In Asia (Bhante Subhuti)

Only In The West, Only In Asia Most Westerners do not like the ancient commentaries or the Abhidhamma. Westerners are very far away from Asian culture in both time and space (miles), and because of this, they have difficulty understanding the cultural and ancient time differences.
A small story shows this example well. It might be useful for the next toilet paper shortage. This is picture and story of a bidet (which are used instead of toilet paper).
A monastic friend showed me his new sprayer he was going to install. My eyes lit up and I said, “Can I take a picture of that?”
“Sure. Why?” he said.
“(Giggle). People in the West think of the kitchen sink when they see one of these.” He made a “yuck” face and then the both of us laughed.
Sometimes, based on culture, time, and place, one can gain different but real interpretations that are counter intuitive to basic common sense. Using a sprayer like that in the kitchen sink is seen equally as using a clean toilet brush to wash the dishes. Nevertheless, as the toilet brush gets used and old looking, you just cannot help but be grossed out from it. It just does not make sense and this is how an Asian person looks at the Western usage of a sprayer. It is beyond imagination for them. So if the commentaries explained that the spray guns are used for washing dishes, they would immediately reject such statements, like my monastic friend did with his “yuck” face.
Contrary, many Westerners criticize the Buddhist Commentaries and Abhidhamma which are the footnote explanations for the Suttas. While some points may seem counter-intuitive, they were based on a time and culture over 2000 years ago. It is hard to judge impartially, especially for a Westerner who grew up and lives very far away in time and space.
That was the modern device too. The Suttas mention “Water Pots For Toilets” and Western people think, “Oh this is for flushing the toilet,” even though there were no flush toilets in the forest monasteries. They were used for the same purpose as mentioned above with a water bowl and smaller bucket used inside which is still used in Asia today. We have monk rules about how the water bowl should be stored upside down so it won’t collect water and rust or get moldy (if plastic). So it is easy to make mistakes, especially for Westerners. That is why the Westerners and Modern Asians are quick to incorrectly judge the commentaries.
Enlightenment and nonself are counter-intuitive too. They go against our natural tendencies. That is why many Westerners like the content mentioned in Ajahn Mun’s Biography. The Thai Forest Traditions, which worship this book as a “bible” to monkhood seem to be the only thing in town for Buddhism in the West. This book helps one believe that an Arahant or even previous Buddhas exists after death with a “citta” that can never be destroyed, which is clearly wrong view according to proper Theravada Buddhism and more inline with Mahayana and Vedanta. Those official “scholarly” writings on the subject in English are often from Thai influenced monks. Westerners in general just don’t understand that the “self” is really a “nonself” because it is made of materiality, feeling, perception, volitional formations, and consciousness which are continually arising and perishing moment by moment at incredibly fast speeds. There is no self and when the fuel runs out for those who are fully enlightened, nothing arises again. Nothing.

2023.06.04 09:34 vlakhani83 A letter chatgpt helped me write to my wife as i ate all the ferreros

My Dearest wife,
I hope this letter finds you well, and I want to express my deepest apologies. Yesterday, I gave in to temptation and ended up eating the remaining Ferrero chocolates that were in the TV cabinet. I am fully aware that we had agreed for me to avoid consuming excessive chocolates due to health concerns, and I regret not exercising better self-control.
I understand if you're upset, but I humbly request your forgiveness and ask you not to be angry with me. My actions were thoughtless, and I take full responsibility for my lack of discipline. You mean the world to me, and the last thing I want is to disappoint you or compromise your well-being.
Please believe that I have learned from this mistake. I am committed to being more mindful and considerate in the future. Your health and happiness are my top priorities, and I will do everything in my power to support you and respect our agreements.
I kindly ask for your understanding and the opportunity to make it up to you. Let's work together to find healthier alternatives and strike a better balance. I promise to replace the chocolates with a more suitable treat that we can both enjoy guilt-free.
Thank you for your love, patience, and forgiveness. I am truly sorry, and I will do my best to ensure such lapses do not happen again. You deserve all the love and respect in the world, and I am committed to being the partner you deserve.
With all my love and heartfelt apologies

2023.06.04 09:27 s_s_b_m Looking for a specific episode

I don’t remember the food, just that when Skinner was in the kitchen, he said something like “I’ll just tell him I found it, he’ll never know the difference. But what if he does? I’ll just tell him I made it myself, he’ll never know the difference. But what if he does? I’ll just tell him I got it at the store, he’ll never know the difference. But what if he does? I’ll just tell him the truth, he’s a reasonable man.” I think it was the one that ended with “Cheers, and fuck you too.” (If that was a different episode I’d also appreciate if you can tell me which one that was in)

2023.06.04 09:26 TayTei I need to talk to a professional but I can't so ima just put this here

THIS IS INCREDIBLY LONG...
i want cinnamon rolls.
Oh yeah should I try to find if theres online professionals or somethin, probably cant afford em because dirt is richer than me. woh
I am currently 13M and I've been staying up for hours trying to figure out what ADHD is, I've also decided to see what the symptoms are... but in the process I kept getting distracted, or I was just moving around a lot and kept ending up in weird positions and a few times I even got up, walked around fidgetting with my hands, sometimes I would randomly get my dad's attention and speak a lot and suddenly im distracted by something else, which is mostly the box in the living room because I just walk to it and hit it because I like the sound it makes.
But when I get distracted it kinda feels like im just being dragged towards whatever distracted me and then im in my own little world for a little bit.
I also just randomly make little eep noises and crouch a few times like some sort of NPC.
Another thing is that whenever I try to do something I just lose focus after a few seconds to a few minutes, start doing something else, instantly forget the first task, and then forget the second task so then im just left there wondering what has happened in the past minute before either just moving around a lot, mostly pacing and fidgetting with my hands, or I'll just randomly hit a box in the living room, I also do that because I like the sound.
If someone told me to do two simple things at the same time I would not be able to even if their relevant, instead I will just start on one task for a bit, switch to the other, leave it alone, and boom its forgotten and has been sent to the void. multitasking is not my friend.
I can be very active and suddenly i wanna do 1000 things at once in one go but then just end up skipping around in the kitchen literally going back and forth because I don't wanna hit my head on a wall again... didnt go very well
but then i just walk to my computer the second i realize its on because I literally walked away from it as I was in the middle of something like "Oh theres a drawing on the screen i wonder what it is" because I forgot that's what I was originally doing.
I will literally go from having a mental breakdown to suddenly acting like im the luckiest person in the world and then straight to being mad for no reason in just a few seconds, i think its called mood swings?
- My friend had helped me with this because they were keeping track of my behaviors, props to them (i dont know if thats the right thing to say........ props to them? i dont know)
I'm very sorry if this is annoying or dumb I'm stressed right now- is stressed is the right word?

2023.06.04 09:23 anon242835 Help starting on weight loss for the nth time, I’m tired and want to do this now

Hi everyone, as title suggests, I have “started to lose weight” so many times I’ve lost count and I want this time to be the last time I ever say I started again. Currently I’m 23m 5’ 11” and steady at 320ish pounds, highest was 330 and I admit one of the things that terrifies me is potentially having loose skin but I think w how heavy I am I def will have some and I think that’s somehow gonna be harder to deal with in my head personally and mentally. I’ve been overweight my whole life but things rlly picked up when I moved out for college, I always was teased and thought I was rlly fat (but when I look at pics of me in hs compared to now I’m like wow why did I ever think I was fat) when it was rlly not that bad compared to now at all. I was pre-diabetic and had high blood pressure for a while but that has resolved itself. Just saw my doctor bc my knee has been acting up and mentioned all this after not seeing a doctor for a while so I got referrals to an orthopedic doctor and also a nutritionist and blood work ordered which I assume are good results bc the reports posted to my account and they’re all showing green ranges. Honestly not excited for the bills for the nutritionist but want to give it a shot but don’t know if that’s fiscally reasonable long term and wanted to try to get help here. I honestly don’t know where to start for food, I can cook and am confident at doing new things in the kitchen. I also don’t know how to grocery shop super cheaply bc I don’t have much money.
Another thing is exercise, idk where to start with that. I have joined like three gyms over time and cancelled, even did personal training at one for a couple months and honestly rlly loved it and my trainer, did twice a week and then I couldn’t afford it anymore so I had to cancel and fell off again, it didn’t help I wasn’t even seeing any results on the scale despite going two more times to the gym so that was four times a week. I’m gonna get a gym membership through work but don’t know how to get personal training at a good reasonable cost bc I think it’ll help me overall and I don’t have much money.
I know that was a lot but thank you so much, lmk if you need more info and again thank you so much in advance for any advice!!!!!

2023.06.04 09:22 Asasuma My reaction to a video of homeless fentanyl addicts in Philadelphia.

I was addicted to smoking tobacco and weed, and at one point I was hooked to coke, I never reached such a state of devastation, but from experience I can sort of understand what this people are feeling, to a certain extent. This is basically Hell. These people are in a mental turmoil and chaos, emotional, physical and mental torture. Slaves of the drugs. They spend all their days probably stealing and finding ways to make money, out of recycling junk etc, just to buy drugs from a dealer, that is part of a hierarchy of narcos. They're the resource of the drug lords, they steal, recycle trash and all of that to make them rich. The world moves in really weird ways. You see them destroyed, skinny, homeless, but they make the druglords rich, its really ironical, the source of their brief happiness are the drugs. It's so absurd how this arises in the universe, this movement of particles/energy/matter, giving rise to this which we call "homeless drugaddict humans". This is 100% result of capitalistic culture, I am not against or in favor of capitalism, idc really, Im not a socialist nor capitalist, I like science, I like physics, chemistry, etc, and to analyze life from that perspective, im not into ideologies, but that which people refer to as capitalism makes of everything a commodity, nature is a commodity, you look at an amazing landscape and if you look at it from the modern capitalistic perspective you just see resources, wood, stone, water to sell bottled, gold, granite for kitchen counters, etc. We're disconnected from something deeper, something that is more meaningful. This is why I like certain ancient philosophies, like Taoism, that teach to be empty of desire, because the more you use external things for pleasure, the more dependent on them you become, the more "needy" and "poor", if you need drugs, alcohol etc, you're a slave, but if your satisfied with nothing, just breathing air, and, closing your eyes, and relaxing, meditating, being comfortable in your own skin, snug, feeling warm and compelte, looking at the skies, drinking fresh water, going for a nice walk in nature, and then returning home, and just moving your body, I do Qi Gong for example, it is meditation in movement, you make repetitive movemnts and imagine that you are moving your energy, and connecting and exchanging energy with the cosmos, letting the old stagnant used energy go to the ground htrough your feet, and the ground recycles this energy, and pure clean energy descends from the sky into the top of your head, and you move this energy, etc, look up "Qi Gong" in youtube, you'll find a wealth of info, its really pleasant.
The idea is letting go of things, in the Tao Te Ching it says "In the persuit of learning everyday something is acquired, in the persuit of Tao everyday something is dropped, less and less is done until you reach non action", Non action is pure flow, you flow in whatever you do, like writing this text for example, just letting the words come out of the top of my mind and into the keyboard. I hope people can start to change, and take the easy path, the effortless path of life, of not needing anything, obviously its better to teach it to kids and make them understand drugaddiction through other means, like depriving them from food, say, when they're like 15, that they can fast for like 2 days without any threat to health, if they fast for 2 days they will feel a similar pain to drug withdrawal but with food, also can be done with water, and then they take the wter and the food and quench their thirst. THen you tell them that that pain they felt, is experienced by drug users but 1000x more, and the worse part is that when you finally eat food or drink water, its good for you, your body receives it and it is good for your body, and you are satisfied and then you can go many hours without food again and water, and the food and water did good on your body, left oyu feeling better, nourished and hydrated. The difference of drugs is that when you do it, it destroys you, and eventually wht happens is that, after the high is gone, you feel a hell, you feel the discomfort you felt when hungry, but 1000x worse, its worse than the pain of burning sensation, when your hand is burnt with fire, or a red hot stove, and then they need the drug just to feel normal, and when it wears out they are in that hell again, and its a vicious circle, without escape, or seemingly without escape. It destroys you so much that you dont have power of will anymore, so its harder and harder to quit. Some drugaddicts voluntarily get locked up, so that they dont take drugs anymore, and when they are locked they go through a WORSE HELL, they want to get out and do drugs at all costs, they regret locking themselves up, they feel physical agony and sensations that are beyond gruelling, they feel sensations that make them want to kill themselves, some do kill themselves, its so horrible they want to stop living, they dont enjoy life like people who dont consume, a person who doesnt do drugs can enjoy life, be tranquil, go his days without caring much, they go to the gym, feel great afterwards, take a shower get on some dry clean clothes, and feel very snug in their own skin, very comfortable/refreshed and like a million bucks, but the drugaddict is in hell constantly, cant enjoy the simple things of life, they need the drug. Hell indeed.
Now go and enjoy the simple things in life, and if you consume a drug, tobacco or whatever, know that I have quit, know that many people quit, know that you can go back to normal, know that you can find happiness and be content with the simple things again, free at last, take a deep breath of air, purify yourself, let your body heal over time, be in contact with nature, do exercise, sweat, drink good water, eat veggeis, fruits, etc, HEAL!

2023.06.04 09:21 Immediate_Stomach_67 True story that happened to me Brownsville Texas

I'm from Brownsville, Texas, and one night I was at my girlfriend's house. We were having a normal evening, watching a movie and relaxing in bed, at around 9:00 pm. Since no one else was home, we were surprised when we heard a robotic-like voice coming from outside the window. I checked, but I didn't see anything. This happened twice. Then, we heard noises coming from the kitchen. My girlfriend had cats in the house, so we thought it might be them and didn't pay much attention. However, the noises continued, and they were louder the second time. We jokingly checked the living room and kitchen, but found nothing unusual, so we went back to bed. Suddenly, we heard the noises again for the third time, and this time we decided to thoroughly check the entire house. However, we couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. The cats were also missing, as if they were hiding. My girlfriend went back to her room, and I followed her. Before entering the room, I had a strange feeling and decided to look out into the hallway. It was dark, and I couldn't see anything, but suddenly, I heard a human whistle. Thinking it was my girlfriend, I smiled and laughed a little. However, when I looked at her, she seemed genuinely terrified and asked me to close the door. I locked it as she requested. We suspected that someone had entered the house, and I was ready to call 911. However, my girlfriend insisted that I shouldn't. Instead, we decided to run out of the house. I locked the bottom lock of the door from the inside and went straight to my car. I was terrified and shaking, and I wanted to call my dad and ask him to bring a gun, but my girlfriend convinced me not to. Instead, I called my friends and asked them to come with baseball bats. We waited outside to see if anyone would come out of the house, but no one did. I told my friends that we should go inside and confront the burglar with the bats they brought. However, when I tried to open the door, I realized it was locked. I remembered locking it before leaving. We decided to go to a restaurant and get the keys from my girlfriend's mom. I asked my friends to stay outside and call the police if they saw anyone. When we returned, we positioned ourselves behind the door, ready to open it. I unlocked the bottom lock and turned the knob, but to my surprise and fear, the top lock that required a key to lock was also locked. We didn't have the key when we originally ran out, and this confirmed to me that someone was inside. I unlocked the top lock using the keys we had, and we quickly entered the house, expecting to find someone inside. However, after searching the entire house and checking all the windows and doors, everything seemed untouched and locked. Since then, my friends and I have been unable to explain what happened that day. The top lock, which needed a key to be locked, was locked when we returned, even though we didn't have the key. Moreover, we still can't explain the human whistling sound that my girlfriend and I heard. The whistling had a mocking tone to it.
When her mom got home we told her what happened and she told us that morning she heard my girl laughing loud as fuck while the tv was on and she told her girlfriend " Natalie is laughing so loud I haven’t heard her laugh like that in a while", but my girl was not home that morning, she slept over at a friend… A few months later, my girlfriend's mom was preparing to move out of the house. She was doing some final checks and making sure all the doors were locked. However, the next day when she went back to the house, she noticed that the back doors were wide open. This seemed strange to her, so she locked the doors again and turned in the keys. A few days later, the realtor who had the keys called my girlfriend's mom and asked if she had entered the house and opened the back doors. She denied it, explaining that she didn't have the keys anymore. The realtor informed her that the previous day, when they went to check the house, the back doors were open, and they had closed and locked them. But when they returned the next day, the doors were wide open once again.

2023.06.04 09:20 Asasuma My reaction to a video of homeless fentanyl addicts in Philadelphia (This post can be also be used to analyze any addiction, even alcohol)

2023.06.04 09:17 Suspicious_Reward373 Creating an alternative timeline of weezer’s discography using songs on Spotify Part1: 90s

So recently, I started to listen to the Alone series. This helped me to learn more about weezer’s unreleased discography and how many great works that they could’ve done. Therefore, I started to create a reimagined timeline of their discography and I would like to share it to you guys.
1993: Opposite sides of the kitchen(album)
Track list:
Side 1:
  1. Lullabye for Wayne
  2. Jamie
  3. Lemonade
  4. I Swear it’s True
  5. Paperface
Side 2:
  1. Don’t Worry Baby (Beach Boys cover)
  2. The World Has Turned and Left Me Here
  3. Chess
  4. The World We Love So Much
  5. Victory on the Hill
  6. The Purification of Water
In this timeline, Weezer’s debut was not the Blue album, but instead Opposite Sides of the Kitchen (which is a combination of the names of the two demo tapes, though much of the songs in this album where not demoed in those tapes). Many of the songs are b-sides of the blue album but were written on or before 1993, so I included them here. I decided to not to include too many Blue songs, and therefore I only chose The World Has Turned and Left Me here to be included into this album, as I think it matches the albums vibe. Lastly, it is worth-mentioning that The Purification of Water sequences Victory on the Hill pretty well, which was a surprise.
1994: Weezer (Blue album)
Track list
Side 1:
  1. My Name is Jonas
  2. No One Else
  3. Buddy Holly
  4. Surf Wax America
  5. Undone - The Sweater Song
Side 2
  1. Mykel and Carli
  2. Say it Ain’t So
  3. Holiday
  4. In the Garage
  5. Only in Dreams
So there is not much change in the blue album, except replacing TWHTALME with Mykel and Carli and some place switches.
1996: Songs from the Black Hole
Track list:
  1. Ooh
  2. Blast Off!/ Who you Callin’ Bitch?
  3. You Won’t Get with Me Tonight
  4. Oh Jonas / Please Remember
  5. Come to My Pod
  6. You Gave Your Love to Me Softly
  7. Tired of Sex - tracking rough
  8. Superfriend
  9. Longtime Sunshine (alone version)
  10. Tragic Girl
  11. Dude We’re Finally Landing
  12. Getting Up and Leaving
  13. Getchoo - tracking rough
  14. No Other One
  15. Devotion
  16. Waiting On You
  17. Why Bother?
  18. I Just Threw Out the Love of My Dreams
  19. Longtime Sunshine (Pinkerton deluxe version)
As some of the short tracks are not available on Spotify, I made this playlist as a combination of most of the proposed track listings. Also, I love both versions of Longtime Sunshine, so I added both of them into the playlist, with the alone version closing the first part of the story and the Pinkerton deluxe version closing the whole story.
1997: Pinkerton
Track list:
Side 1:
  1. Susanne
  2. El Scorcho
  3. Across the Sea Piano Noodles
  4. The Good Life
  5. Wanda (You’re My Only Love)
  6. Butterfly
Side 2:
  1. Shelia Can Do It
  2. Walt Disney
  3. Pink Triangle
  4. Falling for You
  5. Across the Sea
I assume that Rivers still wrote the Pinkerton songs after he finished Black Hole, and therefore most of the Pinkerton are included here (except the ones that appeared in Blackhole). In addition, I added five songs. Piano Noodles acts as an intro into The Good Life, and also hints this playlist’s ending track. In real time, Susanne should be released back in 1995, but let’s just pretend it is recorded in this period. Wanda and Walt Disney are good songs, and therefore I included them. Lastly, I love Shelia can Do It, and as it was written around this period, I included it.
1998: After Blue (ep)
Track list:
  1. Everyone
  2. Trampoline
  3. I’ll Think About You
  4. Lover in the Snow
  5. The Prettiest Girl in the Whole Wide World
  6. Crazy One
Weezer tried to put together a forth album but they couldn’t, the result is this ep. The first two tracks keeps that punchy vibe from Pinkerton, then the other four tracks shows Weezer were getting back to their poppy-power pop roots. This ep shows how confusing this period were to Weezer.
After the ep, Weezer started a hiatus.
So what do you guys think of this recreation? Please let me know your thoughts on it :)

2023.06.04 09:06 Bear_Boss26 Sushi Inomata - 18 course Omakase

Sushi Inomata - 18 course Omakase
Inomata has been on my Want-to-go list for a very long time. Inomata-San specializes in aged nigiri. He serves all of the maguro zuke style. He would show you the fresh cuts of the maguro beforehand with a sign for the source (鳥取縣 境港 for my visit). Then take out the aged maguro from the kitchen and simmer in an urn until ready to serve.
Enjoyed every course, but the makogarei, shima-ebi, aged katsuo, all maguro-zuke nigiri’s, kani, and whale nigiri’s stood out and were memorable. Aging added depths of flavor that I haven’t experienced before in other sushiya’s. About 7/10 full after the meal, so I placed additional orders for shima-ebi and kani. Would have added katsuo and all the maguro-zuke nigiri’s if available 😁.
Will definitely return again, maybe in the winter to try his signature ikura.
