(Part 2/2) I went on two trips with a friend and caught feelings. Now she’s moving and might get back with her old bf
…I left and she ended up going to Madrid because she had a week until she started at her new job and wanted to see some old friends and a professor at her old university to ask about starting a PHD program that the professor had previously invited her to. We kept in very close contact for a few days and then started talking a bit less frequently. The same thing happened after New York. I didn’t really mind it either because I was really busy with my class and I didn’t want us to get bored of each other like I did with my high school girlfriend when trying to do long distance.
Well I noticed that she hadn’t posted on her Instagram story in a few days which was weird because she usually posts every day when she’s traveling. I opened up her profile to see that none of her story highlights were there. The only explanation I could come up with was that she blocked me from her story. The next day she posts a picture of her at a roof top bar and a guy comments on it something along the lines of “always great to see you.”
She had mentioned that she had some sort of a relationship with a Peruvian guy while she lived in Madrid. The guy who commented that ended up being Peruvian.
We had went back and forth texting every day for a week after leaving Rome and then she didn’t respond for about 4 days. The four days lined up roughly with when the picture would have been taken so I assume halfway through her trip to Madrid she started hanging out with him a lot. She finally responded the same night as the post and asked how my class was going and told me that she was back in Italy and about to start work, I was a little mad that she had blocked me from her story and went right to hanging out with this guy after I thought we had a really special time. I was also really stressed from the workload of my class so I waited a few days until I was level headed to respond. When I responded I didn’t mention any of it. I asked how her job was going and said that I had a really long drive home from my class in a couple of days and would love to call and catch up with her on the drive (she mentioned before I left Italy that she wanted to talk on the phone with me a lot over the summer).
That was three days ago and she never answered. I tried calling anyways because I called up a bunch of my friends on my ride home and she didn’t answer. I still haven’t heard anything from her and I’m still blocked from her story.
I’m starting to think that with the PHD coming up she’s hedging her bets that a relationship with the Peruvian guy in the same city makes a lot more sense. I understand that but my feelings are hurt if that’s the case. We had such a good time and I feel like I connected with her better than anyone I had ever met. I guess all I can do is wait and see what happens. I was hoping to visit her at the end of the summer at her new job like she had asked me at the end of our last trip but if she doesn’t respond for days at a time and I can’t see her stories then I guess that won’t happen.
From the time she mentioned her old high school boyfriend in New York, to when she asked me to either stay or take her with me back to america, and now to her hanging out with this Peruvian guy again, I get the feeling that she really has no idea who to trust or what to do with her life. I completely understand that because I felt the same way about just about every relationship from the start of college until I went to New York with her, but I can’t help but be sad by this because I have genuine feelings for her and I find it hard to believe other guys she might be giving similar consideration to all feel the same way.
The silly thing is that for the first time in college I felt I had a purpose for what I was doing. I landed an internship with a guy who promised me the ability to work from home if I stayed with them after the internship and took a CAD course. I have an EU passport and although I didn’t mention this to her (beyond saying that I wanted to work remotely and travel after I graduated) I genuinely wanted to bring her with me. I felt a genuine desire outside of simply not being a failure to do well in school for the first time. I don’t know how to feel about anything now and am honestly spiraling a bit.
Now I’m back in my hometown for the summer and seeing all of my friends who never broke up with their high school girlfriends. I’ve felt superior to them for a while now because I thought I had some sort of a future with this amazing foreign girl who was objectively way more attractive than their girlfriends and in my opinion a lot more fun. Now I just feel lonely looking at all of them. I guess I’m asking what sort of mindset I should approach this whole thing with. My plan for months had been to try to land a remote job and ask her to join me for a trip and then go from there. If she won’t even talk to me regularly or let me see her story I guess that’s out the window. She was a big part of the direction I wanted to take in life and honestly had become my main motivation. The idea of changing my mindset is scary because the time before we started those phone calls where she taught me Italian was a pretty dark time. How should I approach this whole situation in terms of mindset and actions?

I'm an atheist, for obvious reasons. I'm recently single, trying to re build my life and social circle. Friday night I was with my kids at a playground, started chatting with some other parents, an hour later their offering me freezies and beer. Large pro life, every life matters, god hates murder sign on their lawn. Otherwise these folks where incredibly friendly. People I'd probably enjoy hanging out with on the regular, plus they live a block from my house. I was thinking "shit I bet their church has an incredible social circle".
I took my daughter to see the little mermaid with one of her friends. One thing leads to another and we get invited to a family party her friend is having. Big BBQ, packed with 45 people I've never met before and a brief prayer circle before dinner. Their Filipino, 7 of them spoke enough English to be able to converse with. My daughter and i had a hell of a good time, we where there for like 6 hours. Incredibly friendly and hospitable people. The fact I don't speak their language was a very minor barrier.
Given past experiences I haven't bothered trying to be friends with devout folks. However for the second time in two days it crossed my mind to check out their churches for the social aspect. You fellas have any success stories of bridging that religious gap while trying to meet new people?

Hi! Unfortunately, non-qualifier ako :(( BUT even if the chances are slim, I’d like to try to appeal for reconsideration on June 20 and I NEED YOUR HELP in selecting a course to file an appeal to ^{^}
For context, I have a 2.54x UPG, very close to the cutoff UPG for appeals for UPM. And I’m really set on courses na centralized on the various aspects of the human 🫶🏻
Currently, I am thinking between the following: either appeal for BA Behavioral Science (I like the program’s curriculum!) or appeal for programs (aligned with my interest, not sure what tho huhu) that’s more open for recon.
Based from the posts I’ve seen, recon for BehSci is usually competitive and people’s UPGs are usually > 2.3, so even if I’ve grown an interest sa course na ‘to, I’m not sure if I’m willing to take the risk and apply for recon here :((
What do you guys think? If you can, please share your thoughts and give me an advice! Thank you so much <3

Hello, I'm planning to upgrade my camera, including the possibility of switching to a different system.
The primary criteria for picking a camera (brand) are:

• out of camera colors produce well usable SOOC JPEGs and video, because:
  • I sit 8 hours a day behind the computer at my job, and hate sitting behind the computer more to develop RAWs into usable JPEGs, and also because of other pragmatic reasons,...
• PDAF for better focus reliability,
• IBIS for handheld use without gimbal or tripod,
• budget-friendly as it's hobby and not professional use.

Secondary criteria:

• auto-focus reliability as best as possible once primary criteria are fulfilled.

Currently, I own Panasonic Lumix GX85 with a 12-32mm lens. I've also got 42.25mm F/1.7 with super shallow DoF and great image quality, but I use this lens less than I wanted, because I'm not a lens swapper.
Current camera issues:

• autofocus is bad in video, lots of focus hunting when filming moving kids or dogs, or jumping between both,
• low photography quality in low light in-doors, evenings, or sometimes even dim light,
• out of camera colors and not so good.

Main planned use, and other features I'm focused on:

• amateur to hobby-pro landscape and travel photography,
• home and family non-professional videos,
• all-around lens for majority of shoots,
• shallow DoF object photography,
• aspect ratio 3:2 for 99% of photos,
• good 1080p 60fps video quality,
• good auto-focus with tracking of moving objects,
• wide end to be of 12mm or wider (24mm full-frame),
• lightweight for travel,
• non-premium pricing of lenses.

Extra wishes for upgrade:

• higher MP to cover modern 6k displays, which would eventually become mainstream in 10+ years, to future-proof photos in terms of resolution as one can't re-shoot it again in the past,
• weathewater resistant to shoot beautiful non-sunny landscapes without complicated care for camera,
• future-proof lens mount (non-discontinued) in case of upgrading to better all-around lens in future,
• good tele zoom lens available for a good price.

So far, from all the research I've done, I found Fujifilm to be the most focused on "color science" and great SOOC photos. And, often mentioned, that if one wants just JPEGs, then Fujifilm is the only reasonable choice. Is it true?
Fujifilm glass is quite expensive, but it seems to be more because Fujifilm doesn't make low-end/poocheap tier of lenses. As I'm not a lens swapper, I would be mostly using only one for a long time. So, it better be good.
Would the Fujifilm X-S10 + Fujinon XF 16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR be a good choice for me? It's basically the cheapest Fujifilm camera with IBIS and has got PDAF for better auto-focus. However, it's already more expensive than budget I imagined for my upgrade, as Canon, Nikon and Sony have more affordable cameras.

Hi people! After dying on the first day of my first attempt and then dying on the 2nd day and then dying on the 5th day, I finally made it to day 20. But now I experienced a problem for the first time, the power and water shut down. I watched some tutorials and I understand that water is not really a problem since I'm in an urban area and there's countless houses still left to loot with water in their sinks and toilets. On top of that I got 2 water coolers. However, electricity is a problem and I still can't make a rain collector, which brings me to my questions:

1. I need to solve my electricity situation ASAP. I got a freezer jampacked to the brim with frozen meats and stuff. I found a generator but have no clue how to make it work. I know I have to find a magazine but I haven't yet, and there is a book store I found but in front of it there is like 50 zozos.
2. I need to level up carpentry one more level to make the crappy rain collector. How does one do this? I don't really know how I upped it to level 3 to begin with. I keep reading books but they don't give xp. I don't understand. I think they just give xp multiplier but not xp. And even then, how will I purify water from the rain collector? I can't set up the "collector from above goes down > to sink" design because I don't have a terraced house, it's a normal urban house.
3. How do you do absolutely anything in this game XD How will I find sustainable food? I sowed some potatoes I think 1 week ago. When my character inspects the menu it all just says ??????? as she doesn't have a clue wtf is going on, but I see them grow. I also have broccoli seeds. Should I just go wild and plant everything?
4. Are weapons terrible? My character ain't exactly a shooter, but I found 3 guns and 4 boxes of ammo for the semi auto one. But I'm too scared to shot off a round because I think wherever I do it is gonna draw like 1000 zombies.

TLDR: I caught feelings for a girl. She’s moving back to Madrid soon and might be ignoring me in favor of her old relationship.
I (20M) studied abroad in Spain a little over a year ago and met a girl (24F) from Italy at the end of my time there on a trip to Ibiza. My flight home was out of Madrid where she was studying, and she ended up showing me around town on my last night in Spain. All of this was just as friends.
We kept in touch and I would text her in the mornings occasionally over the summer because I had a really boring job that started before any of my American friends were awake. Around the end of the summer, my on again off again relationship with my high school girlfriend came to an abrupt conclusion because she started dating a guy at her university. I had started having feelings for the Italian girl after she showed me around Madrid, but after this point I became much more emotionally invested.
We began to talk over the phone after a while because I started learning Italian. I honestly only really practiced because I liked talking to her and was struggling to find girls at school I really connected with outside of just a hookup after a messy end to my relationship with my high school girlfriend. After about two months of practicing Italian once every week, she mentioned that she wanted to go on a trip to New York and asked if I knew anywhere for her to stay. I told her I had never been but would ask some friends I knew who lived there. I gave her a list of my friend’s recommendations and added that I would love to see NY too if she wanted someone to go with her.
That trip never materialized but about a month later (in November) she planned a trip for March and invited me. It was honestly the main thing that kept me going in an otherwise really rough semester. I built up the trip so much in my head.
The time came and I went to New York. (We split all of the costs of the trip evenly) We had a great time and saw all the sights at record pace. The first night she was so jet lagged that she went to bed at 9:30. The second day we had lots of fun and the awkwardness of the whole situation wore off. I ended up making a move on her while we played Uno the card game on her bed that evening in our hotel room. We made out but when my hands started drifting lower she stopped me and said she was in an off again on again thing with her ex-boyfriend who she had starting dating 10 years ago(different from the guy later in the story) and it was kind of an emotional time for her.
After that, we just laid in her bed and talked about life for a while and made out a few times until we finally started having sex. We had more and more every day. She came onto me every morning and every night. We kept running out of condoms and eventually stopped using them. I was having such an amazing time. The trip was more than I had even dreamed of. I fell in love, I honestly don’t believe I have ever felt the same way about any other girl. By the end of the trip we were holding hands walking around, kissing in public, and she was leaning her head on my shoulder on the subway.
After probably the best week of my life up to that point, I walked her to the subway station, gave her a long hug and a kiss. We promised to keep in touch and she gave me a 20 cent Italian euro coin that had an image of a statue we saw at a museum over that trip on it. I watched her disappear into the subway and felt genuinely sad.
When I left for college my high school girlfriend insisted on dropping me off. I was indifferent about it. She called me from the airport crying after I had moved in and I cared but definitely didn’t feel the same way. When the Italian girl went down the subway steps I had a few hours until my own flight home and sat in the hotel restaurant playing with the coin and thinking about her. It was the first time in my life I was genuinely depressed about someone leaving. Maybe it was because I didn’t know if I’d ever see her again or maybe it was simply because of the amazing times we had but for about two weeks I was pretty depressed.
While we were in New York we had talked about visiting each other over the summer but made no real plans. About a month after returning from New York I mentioned to her the possibility of me visiting in May before summer pricing made the flights too expensive. At first she seemed a bit weirded out that I had mentioned visiting so soon after our first trip but then seemed to understand the price increase and was 100% on board for any trip I planned. (We split all of the costs of the trip evenly)
I came to Rome and expected to take it slowly at first because I hadn’t seen her in a while. As soon as we get to the hotel though she came onto me and we started having sex. We didn’t miss a beat and had more sex than in New York. I even made her squirt for the second time in her life. We were having a blast and she seemed just as into me as I was into her.
We traveled all over the country in a week and began hinting at feelings for one another. I had always talked about how if I were to live anywhere in the US after graduation I would go to St. Pete Florida. One night we were up talking about life which had become pretty common, and she mentioned that she would like to live in Florida and would want to live by me if she did. She also asked me to visit her in the town(in Italy) that she had just gotten a new job in. On the last day in Italy I got really sick. Fever, chills, nausea. Everything. She took really good care of me and I managed to make it out for dinner and we had a good time. She asked me to stay a bit longer because she was having such a great time. I told her I had a class in Oklahoma that I had to go to but otherwise I would honestly consider it. She (maybe not seriously) told me to take her with me.

All my life I've done things late, I never learn. I always procrastinate and I've been lucky my whole life. I have good grades but I feel like it's finally catched up to me. I have an exam in 2 days an ive been doing practice questions and I have no clue on most of them. I'm fucked I know. I get this anxiety and I start cramming like a week before exams all the time. This time if I fail I get a resit in late july/ early August. My family goes on holiday in the 2nd week of August and I cant bear to tell them I have to stay back for being an idiot. I've been using anki but I just can't get anything in my head. Normally I read my school notes and practice past papers but we don't seem to have that for medical school. Theres just so much that I know I'm done for. I seriously need help. I don't know why but I cant sit and study for more than 20 mins without swinging in my chair and getting up. I feel like I want to just give up and run away.

I didn't make any Software Changes, so I think it's more a hardware fault. I read that some people had similar issues and re-flashed the firmware of the stick. Does this make sense? Or is there something like a factory reset for the dongle?

My (F46)ex (M66) has been split from his second wife for 20 years, not officially divorced. We got together a year after their split and were together 12 years, never married. He has 4 kids, 3 with his first wife and 1 with me.
He inherited his grandparents house, lived with his first wife and their three kids, then lived in it with his second wife until they split. I have never lived with him in that house.
He put his second wife's name on the deeds after they split without getting legal advice, he just signed a piece of paper put in front of him at the time.
I've just found out about this as we're still close and he wants to name me as being able to sort his funeral and affairs out when he dies.
Do I assume that when he dies she will get all the house, or half goes to his second wife, and half split between the four kids?
I've already told him he was stupid to sign a document without legal advice but he was a functioning alcoholic at the time and has always been a bit of a moron when it comes to finances.
I assume we'll need to copy of the deeds and an appointment with a solicitor? I'm not necessarily wanting to fight it, it's not really my circus, just know what the situation is for when the time comes.

I’ve been mostly in bed for 4 years. I get out of bed to use the restroom and brush my teeth and shower once or twice a week. I am always asleep. I have had so many close people in my life die that I don’t care about anything anymore. I have lost parents, best friends, lovers and my beloved pug in a very short amount of time. I’m able to live because of money I’ve inherited. I’m a useless human being with nothing to contribute anymore. I haven’t the strength to help one of my last dear friends go through her stage 4 cancer. I’m a piece of shit basically. Every day that goes by I wonder and wish I would get cancer and die like my mom. I do occasionally binge watch shows but that’s the extent of it. I’m on all sorts of meds for depression, anxiety, weight loss, ect. I’ve managed to loose 50 pounds since December 2022 so that’s one thing that’s good. I could loose another 50 and be at 130, my favorite weight. I live by a beach ! Can you believe I don’t go one mile down the road to visit it ? I have 2 houses and find it very difficult to maintain mentally going back and forth. I hate myself completely for having privilege and wealth from my deceased parents and not finding an ounce of joy in its freedom, because of what I lost to receive it. I really am pathetic, and my parents would be sad and ashamed for me I know. I had my 15 year old pug die horrifically on my birthday when in someone else’s care while I was sick. He was left accidentally outside on an unshaded deck for hours in extreme heat. I hate that person responsible is the person who brings me my nutrition every day and is my only contact now. I miss my dog everyday for the last four years, and spend many a night lying here imagining what my pug dogs horrible and painful death was like. If I was healthy he would never had died. The guilt is at times completely unbearable. I’m sorry this is so long, but I’m hoping someone can point me to a miracle treatment or medication that has helped them. Menopause is probably not helping either. Thanks for reading.

We have been with Telstra for years.. No issues with their modern or service (NBN I should specify, their customer service is abhorrent) A couple of weeks ago suddenly our wifi would drop out from all devices. After it happened a couple of times, I checked the modem and noticed all the indicator lights on the back were off, although the front white light was on. After a few minutes, eventually all the lights come back on line and slowly all my devices would reconnect.
It started happening once a day. Then begun to happen 2 times a day. I called Telstra who after hearing of my issue, first task was to try to upsell me on my plan?! Wtf?
Eventually they decided to send out a new modem. This was a passion in the arse as I had to re set up dozens of devices including Smart globes, security cameras, Google assistants, etc which all took time.
By the next day, the new modem was doing it too.
I tried different cables and power points, but read a thread from 2019 that said this was a common issue caused by apple devices. We only have 2 iPads. All other devices are android. We removed our iPads but only half an hour later, it happened again.
I was also read to disable IPv6 and change to 506 hours or something which is. Still hasn't helped.
I'm at my wit's end. What the hell is going on? Please help

I got to work at 5 today after being asked to come in early at 11am (I was asleep when my SM called and texted) so I text back that I couldn’t because I had stuff to do before work. Anyway, I get to work at 5 to find out I was going to be there by myself until 9:50 when the SM would come in so he could be the second person in the store. I was fine with this because this happens A LOT. Well we get busy as shit and no one apparently wants to use SCO. So my line was long and all I heard was moaning because they had to wait. The. An hour into my shift a customer informed me someone had puked all through the store. So I had to wait until I had a second of no customer to put out wet floor signs and get the bucket filled with water. Well signs are up but it took me another 2 HOURS before I could get the mess mopped up. On top of that we had 6 rts on the floor that my SM wanted done by the end of shift. To top it off we had storms rolling through the area so customers were in a hurry. So I am exhausted, physically hurting and just emotionally drained.

There's a city tree in our park strip in front of my house and it's quite a nuisance. I understand we're responsible for maintaining it to some extent, and it's just become so bothersome. It's constantly dropping leaves to where every week, I'll spend about an hour raking up the leaves and will fill up the compost bin. Also, worst part is that it's starting to lift up the side walk. It's about a 35-40ft tall tree so it's quite big. I'm jealous of my neighbors because they have tree's that are about 4-6ft tall and don't seem to drop leaves.
Have any homeowners had luck working with the city to get the tree removed and replaced?
