Godfather I and II, Goodfellas and Casino. These films were released in 1972, 1974, 1990 and 1995, respectively. They all roughly have a lag of 20 years: the Godfather duology portrays the 1940s/1950s era of the American Mafia, Goodfellas and Casino roughly take place in the 1970s and into the 1980s.
It's not a stretch to say that these are four of the most highly regarded films about the American Mafia. To varying degrees, they each have an epic scope to them. Godfather I and II feels like you are watching criminal royalty, and takes place when the American Mafia is undoubtedly at its peak. Goodfellas is about high-earning connected guys, but it is not centered around the boss. Henry and Jimmy cannot officially be members of the Mafia due to their heritage, but the stakes are very high, for instance, the multimillion dollar Lufthansa heist. In Casino we see the rise (and fall) of the go-go Mafia-backed Vegas.
What comes next in the pantheon of great American Mafia films? In my opinion: nothing for a long time. I believe the next great film about the America mob is The Irishman in 2019--this is a 20+ year drought.
After Casino, the next noteworthy film about the American mafia is Donnie Brasco, released in 1997. Based on the true story of Donnie Brasco, alias of FBI undercover agent Joe Pistone who infiltrated the Bonanno crime family via Lefty, an aging, going nowhere, drowning in debt street soldier. To me, this film represents the late stage Mafia, even though historically it overlaps with Goodfellas.
Goodfellas took us down to the level of associates, but there was still a lot of money rolling around. In Donnie Brasco, there is no glory at all. In one scene, Lefty is pathetically trying to crack open a sawed off parking meter for quarters. Lefty represents the soldier that does all the dirty work, does everything right, looks after his capo Sonny Black while he is in prison, and has nothing to show for himself. No money, broken family life, and no chance at rising up the ranks. At one point he rants to Donnie how he's respected all over the world, only to be humiliated by a high-earning capo Sonny Red later. Lefty has committed 26 hits, but he's often the joke of his own crew. Not only is Lefty exploited by his own crew, I think he's exploited by Donnie. Donnie sees in Lefty a washed-up soldier who will never have his own crew, and has an estranged relationship with his drug addict son. Donnie has to play the eager apprentice, but he's also got to be a cunning undercover agent. In Lefty, he senses someone who is respected but desperate to fulfill some sort of mentorship/authority role, and thus can serve as a foothold. There is a sense of vulnerability when Lefty meekly asks Donnie if Donnie wants to "check in with him tomorrow."
Lefty's failures represent the oppressive hierarchy of the late stage Mafia. Loyalty is not rewarded--in fact, it cannot be rewarded, there's simply not enough money for that. However, disloyalty is still punished, as Bruno Kirby's character is executed for conducting a drug deal outside of the crew. Just doing what you're told is not good enough, and trying to get something for yourself is punishable by death. The only way to succeed is to bring in a significant revenue source and make your boss look good. While this has probably been true forever, and the Mafia has always been organized as a pyramid, to quote the film: "Here you got 3,000 wise guys all chasing the same nickel." The pie, for whatever reason--either due to competition from other crews, other criminal organizations, RICO--is not growing anymore. At this point, the American Mafia feels like a husk of its former self. There's still money to be made, and the American Mafia is still around, but things have changed. Fast forward to 2023, sports gambling, once a primary revenue stream of organized crime, is now legal in many parts of the country, and around the globe. You can gamble on your phone, no need for a bookie.
As a film, it feels like Donnie Brasco is late to the party. By 1997, the public sentiment has changed. The glamor and stability of the American Mafia as an institution is fading. I believe at this point, the public had very little appetite for the portrayal of the American Mafia as criminal royalty, and Scorsese did a tremendous job of presenting its brutality and psychotic violence in a layered fashion. The American Mafia lost its "star power" and glory, and the public was now well aware of Sammy the Bull. Omerta, the code of silence, at best seems quaint, at worst, a childish pact. The subsequent higher-profile crime dramas of the 2000s represent pivots away from the American Mafia: Training Day (2001) portrays Latino and African American LA street gangs, The Departed (2006) is about Southie Irish gangsters, Eastern Promises (2007) is about the Russian mob, and American Gangster (2007) is about Harlem kingpin Frank Lucas.

I just want to preface this by saying my brother and I have always been very close. We grew up in an abusive household and we only had each other since we never got to leave the house much. However, I think that dealing with that kind of trauma has led to us having two very different personalities. He’s highly competitive and angers easily, whereas I always got by through being quiet and avoiding confrontation. We’re pretty much the definition of Type A vs. Type B personalities.
On to the main point, we both have some friends from college (we went to the same university) that we hang out with and play video games with often. We started playing this game together called Gang Beasts, and if you know anything about it, you know it’s a fighting game that’s supposed to have whacky physics and be funny, it’s not serious at all. However, my brother tends to take it very seriously.
When we play, I tend to get some great knockouts, and my brother hates it. He’ll get angry and shout and say things about how the game is making it easier for me and that I shouldn’t be doing as well as I am. He says the game favors me somehow, and if I knock him out, he’ll say things like, “OF COURSE the game gives it to you! Your character skin must be easier to get hits with!” (Even though skins are purely cosmetic). Or, “How does it feel to play with a fucking handicap?” The funny thing is that I don’t even win very much compared to him, he’s good at everything and wins 90% of the time. But when he wins, he calms down and stops complaining.
Normally I brush it off cause that’s just how he is, he’s highly competitive and I’m not so I don’t really care. However, it’s started to hurt my feelings because he insults me and gets everybody else in on the idea too so they’ll start coming after me in the game to get me out first and ignore each other. Again, it’s just a game so I don’t really care if I lose, but it just sucks because it’s not fun for me when everybody prioritizes getting me out of the game first. It makes me feel like they’d rather not have me play with them at all, like I should just leave so they can have a “fair” game.
It happens in other games too since gaming is one of our main hobbies. Like if we play a team game and we’re on the same team, sometimes I won’t be doing very well and I’ll be at the bottom of the leaderboard, and he’ll say something like, “What the fuck are our teammates doing? Are they brain dead?” Or sometimes he’ll even forget what character I’m playing as and insult me directly, like “Our fucking healer sucks!” It even happens in board games. If I’m doing well at anything at all, he’ll start yelling about how the game isn’t fair and how I’m so lucky, but when he inevitably starts to win again like he always does, he’ll magically go quiet and become happy again.
I’m really bad at confrontation so I haven’t said much about it yet. What can I say to my brother in these moments when he puts me down? I don’t want to anger him or fight in front of our friends but I also want to start standing up for myself.

My son hit the threenager phase right before I had our daughter, who is now just shy of 4 months old, and honestly it feels like me and my husband barely have our sanity intact by the end of the day most days. We're struggling in particular with not listening / ignoring instructions, laughing in our face when we say not to do something, him running away from us in public (which makes me scared of going out alone with both of them). I'm a SAHM and my husband works so I'm alone with them both most days. I grew up in a pretty toxic and emotionally abusive household, so when I get stressed and end up yelling it makes me feel guilty for the rest of the day because I'm terrified of messing him up or making him feel unloved. I'm in the middle of reading How To Talk So Little Kids Will Listen and I've implemented some of the tips which actually had a good effect, but I struggle remembering what the advice is when I'm in the thick of it and especially in stressful moments. Does anyone have any advice? I feel like I'm grieving sometimes because I miss the days when it was just me and him, he was so easy and we did so much together. Today I admitted to my husband that it doesn't feel fun to be around him most of the time anymore, and it broke my heart when I said it.

My instructor said I was ready and that we had a good drive on a Friday lesson. But I suck at driving. I passed my mock test with them a few days ago and I reckon I’ll pass if I perform like I did then, but since that mock test, I’ve been messing up in each lesson.
My main concern is manoeuvres, nerves, hitting the curb, signalling, speed approaching hazards. A lot of things.
In my last lesson, I went on-top of the curb as I was going out from a narrow minor road into a major one from a car park that they often use for the test. Great.
My manoeuvres often suck despite doing them for so long, and the only ones I’m really confident about are parallel parking and straightline reverse on the right (so not even the forward bay parking). I think my main issue is that my instructor insists I use their reference points/dots on their car for reverse bay parking, but it just doesn’t come naturally for my perspective. I look up videos to fix my reverse bay parking, but then I end up getting lambasted for not using my instructor’s reference point and instead trying the video’s reference point.
I also keep forgetting to turn my signal off whenever it remains on (i.e., entered a carriageway from a slip-road with signal on and then I just leave it on). Why do I forget? Likely just complete tunnel vision.
I’ve watched countless of videos of DGN, Conquer Driving, Advanced Driving School, etc. but I still feel panicky. Before my last lesson I was telling myself that I’d pass, and to some degree I know I can because I have had days here and there where I’ve driven well, but it still feels like a dice roll or walking on tight rope.
It’s still a couple of days from my exam, but I can’t sleep. I watch driving videos constantly, I’ve eaten bananas before my lessons, done cold showers to prevent anxiety, watched videos about driving test anxiety, tried to reframe my mind and accept that I’ll make mistakes and that I’ll possibly fail, watched countless mock tests online, but it’s all easier said than done. My legs were shaking like crazy during my ordinary lesson on Friday.
I’ve had exactly 50 hours of lessons, so I want to pass. I’ve never been scared for an exam like this, not for GCSEs, A-Levels, etc., so I’m not sure what to do. Maybe my fear comes from the fact that I could revise a written exam independently if I was scared, or that I’ve always been a semi-decent student, or that no-one is watching you intensively in a GCSE exam waiting for a mistake, but with driving it’s really a case of paying more and more for lessons and being co-dependent completely on my instructor. I can only improve so much by watching videos. I can’t do private lessons as my family doesn’t have a car.
I want to pass, but I just feel dejected. I keep telling myself that I’ll pass or that I can pass to be positive, that I’ve worked hard, but there’s another voice telling me that I’m not ready.
I’m not sure why I’m so scared. I rationally know that even if I were to fail, nothing would happen really. I would just end up paying a lot for a test, "disappoint" a couple of people slightly and end up in the exact same position I’m in now. But even though I rationally know something, it just doesn’t stick instinctively.
I wrote this mainly just to get my thoughts out and see if that helps my driving/anxiety in any way. Maybe it’ll help someone else. I come across a lot of posts on this subreddit where people say they’re scared and passed, but I find it difficult to really feel it from them. I sort of feel like there’s no way anyone could pass if they were as scared/unready as me. A sort of woe is me situation I suppose.
Just sad really, fed up, tired. I really do want to pass. Maybe there were better instructors earlier on, or I don’t know. I don’t know.

Now that we are a month + out from the NFL draft and ADP has somewhat normalized, who are the best targets in the mid/late 2nd round of rookie drafts? We have seen this range produce some unlikely contributors in the last few years. Not to say that we should expect dominant fantasy contributors here, but hitting on your later picks (by hitting in this range, I mean guys that you could either flip for more value or will eventually be able to flex start, at the minimum) can be the difference between keeping a team liquid vs running out of assets.

Jalen Hyatt, WR, NYG
Sam Laporta, TE, DET
Tank Bigsby, RB, JAX
Roschon Johnson, RB, CHI
I am personally prioritizing Mims, Laporta, and Tank over these guys and other players going near this range.
I like Mims due to his ball tracking + yac ability, coupled with his draft capital and the fact Sean Payton traded up to get his guy. I don’t think the WR is room in Denver is as crowded as we’re lead to believe, as I think sutton will either be traded or let walk next year.
Laporta’s draft capital is unquestionable. Essentially a 1st round pick at 34 overall. He wasn’t super productive at Iowa, but Iowa’s track record with tight ends is pretty remarkable. Laporta is also tied to a seemingly ascending offense. The only knack I have with him is that he may be the 4th receiving option in that offense when everyone is playing (behind ARSB, Jameo, and gibbs).
I am a Bigsby fan due to the flashes he showed at Auburn and his day two capital. Similar to laporta, bigsby finds himself in a seemingly ascending offense. Obviously ETN is RB1, but all signs point to a legitimate portion of work being available for Tank. I believe tank will get more receiving work than most think too. Tank also becomes one of the premier handcuffs, but even so I think he will offer some flex upside this year regardless.

So last weekend I watched HITHD and today I watched its sequel.
So the first one I’ll say was very slow but the last 20-30 minutes of it were fairly solid and worked very well at creating an unsettling and creepy atmosphere and it was so simple. I have to say for a micro budget film made during the pandemic in which no two actors are on screen at the same time, it was very clever and honestly fairly convincing. That last recording had me feeling very uneasy and on the edge of my seat and almost made me jump but definitely caught me by surprise.
Now we have Minerva, the movie itself is shorter and does features more of the found footage clips than the first. That being said, the footage in the third act was not nearly as unsettling or effective as the one from the first and I get as though the film kind of lost itself. If that makes sense. First we are learning all about Minerva and what happened to her when we are hit with a random character who became a victim of something? All the while we barely hear anything about Gary from the first film except small snippets then at the very end we have someone say they’ve saved enough money to travel to Nevada for thirty days and they are going to be looking for the cabin?
Idk the first one was gripping for sure and I was looking forward to seeing more of Gary’s story or at least the cabin in the middle of the desert and not necessarily getting more answers but perhaps better scared and intensity than what we’ve got.

Diets as they currently function really just make absolutely no sense in Evirma. Currently, you just arbitrarily get circles, hot dogs, or squiggles randomly depending on what your dino is supposed to eat. But why on earth do Galli and Beipi both get the same diet from frogs, but one gets the same diet from sumac but not the other? It just makes no sense and limits gameplay and forces players to eat certain things rather than encouraging them to as you'd expect.
It's particularly nonsensical for carnivores, as organs randomly all give a specific nutrient, but somehow, potentially not a single ounce of the rest of the corpse could give you a nutrient. Or it could give you one, it's completely arbitrary.
This is of course not mentioning that for some reason dinos in Evirma can only eat up to 3 things before they have to force themselves to vomit if they want to eat something else. Why is there just a random limit..? Why is there an actual game mechanic that encourages you to vomit intentionally??? Why can I eat some squiggles and as soon as I take one bite too many I now have two things of squiggles, forcing me to either throw up or accept that I have two squiggles. Sure, sometimes you want two squiggles, or two dots, or two hotdogs or whatever, but the fact you're forced to play around this because it's so randomly limiting is not fun.
Here's my proposal for a diet system that still lets you pick and choose what your buffs are, encourages dinos to eat certain foods, and still gives you the flexibility to eat other things if you want.

• The three hexagons now are no longer equal in value. Which diet is most important is different for each species. Carno for example might need a lot of dot diet but not a lot of hotdogs. They also decay at different rates for each dino. If you really wanted to get in-depth, you could make different activities (fighting, running, growing, etc.) take differing amounts. I don't think this part is necessary to work, however.
  • Your nutrients now are tied to your actual stomach contents- you cant have 100% for all three diets unless your stomach is 100% full. You can't have 50% for all diets if your stomach is 50% full. If you wanted, you could remove hexagons and have it physically show up as separate colors in your stomach, showing exactly what you filled your stomach with.
• Hexagons no longer need filled up to give benefits- benefits are given based on what % of the hexagon is filled, not if they randomly hit a certain amount of that diet eaten.
• All plants and animals can give all three diets. However, they give them in varying amounts- A Dryo could give very little or no hotdog, but a lot of squiggle, for example. Organs continue to only give one diet, but now they're not the soul portion of squiggles in a dryo, for example.
  • Ideally, you'd have it organized so that the squiggles, hotdogs, and dots actually represent what they're supposed to- Animals tend to give more protein, varying depending on what the animal is, with speedier animals giving higher amounts of protein, chunkier ones giving more lipids. Plants would give more carbs, with some fattier plants such as coconuts giving more lipids.
• Having your diets low causes a poor diet- let's say, below 25% you start taking appropriate stat penalties for not having enough of that diet. Above 50%, you start obtaining bonuses appropriate to the percentage of diet you have. It is not based on time that your diet has been low, it is based on the percentage the diet is at. If your diet is at 0% for all three, you will have serious stat penalties. If you manage to keep it around 20% but can't get it over that 25% mark, your penalties will be minor but won't continue to decrease.

What this accomplishes:

• There is now way more player agency in diet. You can eat different items as you find them without them just being a waste of stomach space, or you can gain some diet from eating them even if they're not particularly satisfying towards what you actually need. For example, if you're a baby carno, you can eat a frog which, while probably not enough to satisfy any of your diets, will give you something in all of them.
• Still punishes players for eating improperly without forcing them down a certain dietary path.
• Puts hunger above your dietary needs. Dietary needs should come second to not starving. In the current game, they almost never do because they are so strict on how much you can fill them up.
• Removes the need for a diet list and encourages players to experiment to find what foods are best for their playstyle. One player might find that they greatly prefer just gorging themselves on fish as a ptera, another might find eating babies is far more satisfying for them, and neither is inherently penalized for their playstyle like they are currently.
• Removes many, many arbitrary limitations to the current diet system, while still keeping the benefits. You can still functionally have two hotdogs and a squiggle if you eat the right things, it's just now you're not limited to those diets if you decide you want something else.
• Encourages players to constantly search for food to balance out their diet as best they can for maximum benefits without forcing them to traverse the entire map for one food item, or giving them crazy hunger drain.
• Makes all food valuable, just with more value for some foods than others, with what is valuable depending on the species' needs.
• Can encourage omnivores to actually eat an omnivorous diet- in varying quantities as well- by making them need more proteins/carbs depending on which you want them to focus on.
• Makes more sense to newer players- it should come more naturally to them, as this is how diets work in real life. You need to eat the right nutrients to stay healthy, but you're not limited to 8 specific foods you can only get those nutrients from.

Making an update post as some had requested and to light someone’s day and spread some positivity.
The Preparation: I followed the recommendations received in the earlier post. A huge shoutout and thanks to u/Dikkatbadhihai for your recommendations. I was wearing an ironed white shirt, no blazer haha, sleeves folded, sky blue jeans and white sneakers. I used a nice perfume I had. I carried the custom bouquet (consisting sunflower, lily, orchids, rose and tuberose), a Kit Kat and Pune’s special delicacy i.e., ‘Bakarwadi’. I also had two wine glasses with me and a bedsheet so that we could sit and watch sunset while sipping some wine if possible.
The meet: I reached early and was waiting for her at a food court in the mall. Plan was to pick her up from there and then go to ‘Seawoods’ mall to have a lunch together at restaurant recommended by a friend. She arrived, we greeted but didn’t do a side hug or something, we were figuring out whether to stay in same mall or go to the next. We decided to proceed as planned. We had trouble locating my car in parking and had to ask around a little bit. By now I was bit worried that the start wasn’t smooth and the hot weather was adding to our woes of getting comfortable with each other. Once we located my car, I swiftly moved ahead, took out the bouquet and presented it to her. She went from a surprise reaction to shying a little and eventually blushed. I got to capture all her reactions in my mobile. Then we headed to the next mall. While on the way, I played the 2000’s hit songs from Spotify as recommended. She started humming along with songs and it did set a romantic tone.
Lunch part of the date: We reached Seawoods and headed to food court. By now we became very comfortable like we were on our video calls. We were walking very close to each other and almost touching. My wrist watch was hitting her hand all along when we were walking in the mall but she didn’t allow me to remove the watch. She located a toy store on the way to food court and bought a cute small captain America bobble head for me to put on my car’s dashboard. By now we were getting touchy with each other. We zeroed on a place to eat and I paid and ordered as she is usually not much decisive. She really liked the chicken seekh kebabs. I was cutting the kebabs into small bites for her to eat and she was trying to stop me from doing it. I took some of her photos before the food arrived, with food and while eating. She was resisting in a cute way but was being a sport and enjoying it. After lunch, we decided to head towards the car. Near the lift, I saw the gaming zone. I asked her to just to go and check it out. We went in and inquired about the bowling alley but there was half an hour wait, so we cancelled. Here I felt I should hold her hand and I went for it and we did. And then onwards we were holding hands all along. Before going to the car, she bought Cinnabon for me to take home as she had told me about it and wanted me to try.
The evening – purely majestic: We headed to the jetty ride in Belapur for the sunset boat ride. The weather was hot and she was yearning for some cool breeze all through the day but it was eluding us all along. We boarded the jetty, sat down and had some water and after a while went on to check out the boat. We found a small place near the engine with two chairs. We could see everything from there so instead of sitting at the regular place with others we decided to call that place ours. We had privacy there but people were coming once in while there as part of the boat tour. Now we were holding hands and leaning our heads onto each other and enjoying the view. The boat started after a while and we started experiencing the breeze. We were now holding each other by the arm. We took some photos of the surrounding in our own mobile. Afterwards I asked her for her phone and went on to capture our photo and she obliged and we took some nice photos alongside each other. After sometime the boat slowed down and we got to see the flamingos near the shore and we tried capturing those adorable birds from distance. Then we went to the front part of the jetty to watch sunset. An extremely romantic vibe was just waiting for us. The sunset was about to happen. A nice cold breeze was flowing, the sky was clear, the red-hot sun was fully visible, a plane was flying in one corner of the sky, flamingos were there on both sides of the sea, in the distance Mumbai’s skyscraper and the under-construction trans harbour link road was visible, some birds were flying over the sea, a few fishing boats were visible too. I was holding her by the shoulder, we were looking at each other once in a while and taking in all the beauty around. For the first time in my life, my heart was satisfied. We stood there till sunset and took some really nice photos together. Once the boat turned, she took me to the back of the boat where we were from start. The night was setting in and we were holding each other close now. After a while once the people moved to the main area and we had privacy, she looked back, came very close and approached for the kiss. We kissed and it was long, intense and passionate. Just purely magical. I had never felt this kind of euphoria all my life. Everything was just surreal. We kissed again before the jetty reached the shore. We got down, walked towards the car holding hands and I jokingly gave her the credit for deciding to go for the jetty ride.
The goodbye – We just had a perfect evening and now we wanted to get some nice chai. We decided to just drive around the palm beach rode and see if we can find a chai tapri. We found a chai place after a while and asked him to make two kadak adrak chai. We sat down nearby and enjoyed the tea. We were exhausted now. We both being introverts, our social battery was now down. We enquired about a park nearby and went there and sat silently on the bench for some time. The park was getting closed, so we moved out. We found a pani puri stall and shared one plate. It was already late and I had to travel back too. So, I decided to drop her to a nearby station so she could head to her home. When we reached the station, I gave her the flower bouquet. The cab was booked and waiting. She was holding the bouquet in one hand and my hand in the other and we walked till the cab. I opened the door and helped her get in the cab and asked her to call me once she reached home. We hugged and she gave me a kiss and got into the cab and we waved each other goodbye. For next one hour, we didn’t communicate much and were just contemplating the entire day. She called me after reaching home. I was still driving back home. We laughed and talked about the day for next one hour till I reached home. Our conversation went on even after reaching home until we realised it’s too late and we should call it a day.
I feel I am really lucky to have lived this wonderful day. Just wanted to share my experience of the date as some had requested and thank people for helping me out.

Beating your child as a form of discipline but until when?
This post will likely to split people or maybe not but here goes. I know it's a really common thing that happen in asian household but thoughts pls.
Growing up, I get canned when I don't do homework or tell a lie and get caught, basically whenever I do something wrong. I've grown up to see it as something normal but now that I think back of it, those canning that I've gotten weren't really those typical canning you would get from school (on your palm or ass). The canning I always get seemed to be motivated by anger and I don't get it on palm or butt but all over the body. Once I tried to avoid a canning, it landed literally next to my eye by my temple. Obviously all those canning left marks (like bruising) over the next few days and whenever I go to school (primary), all my friends would be asking what happened.
As I grew up, canning gotten less but then it came in a form of slapping then. I would get yelled at if I stay quiet when I kena scolding but when I do reply back, I get slapped in the face for answering back. Note that I was told my my mom not to stay silent when kena scolding and voice up when something is not accurate.
After 18, I happened a few times and on the last time it happened, I couldn't take it anymore that I just yelled back and told her if she ever hit me again, I will be calling the police and that was when I was 22 yrs old. Tho she never raised her hand on me anymore but each time we get into an argument, I just have a feeling that I might get beaten in any form.
I know that you're not allowed to beat anyone at any given point of time and I do not condone physical violence. If police were to be involved, what will be it? I'm no longer under 18 and above 21 and already an adult. Will it be considered as an assault then and no longer as disciplining your child?

I just wanted to give everyone an update into my dumbphone journey. I bought a Cat s22 Flip back in February off Ebay for around $130 dollars. Some thoughts thus far:
Overall, I really like this phone. It has managed to get me from spending around 3 to 4 hours a day on my phone to around 10 to 20 minutes (assuming I don't listen to music on it). While I can go online, I rarely do, except when I need to do so when I'm out running errands or something. This has also resulted in my spending less time in general on computers or internet. I've refused to put any social media apps on the phone, so I pretty much just use it for phone calls, a few texts, and music listening. Battery generally goes a day and half before a charge, which I'm trilled with.
As far as downsides, the camera basically is crap. Better than nothing, but still crappy. I've compensated by buying a point-and-shoot digital camera. Another thing I don't like is that when you hit the speaker button, closing the flip phone calls the call to terminate. I feel this could be an easy fix. Texting with the phone's default system sucks as does the T9 download. However, voice-to-text is an easy work around. While it means I send fewer texts, I'm more likely to make a phone call, which is probably a better thing for social relationships. Additionally, I still haven't figured out how to listen to music on a web browser without keeping the phone open. But that's really a small issue.
As I switched to this phone, I read Cal Newport's Digital Minimalism. I feel like this phone is perfect for those who wish to follow that book's guidelines. So, in short, this is a great phone for those who seek less reliance on their phones, but also need smart capabilities for jobs, etc.
Anyone else have similar experiences with this phone? It hurts my heart that it's been discontinued. I feel with a few minor tweaks and a better ad campaign, the Cat s22 Flip could be a great phone for those seeking to minimize smartphone/internet addiction. I know there is a whole segment of folks out there who remember life before the internet and want to regain control over their lives (basically older millennials like myself). Seems like a missed opportunity.

As in, whether being hit by your parents bruised you?It's a scientific fact that women mostly bruise more easily than men or that even within sexes some people bruise more easily that others. Eg I had a friend who would bruise easily running accidentally running into the wall while playing indoor sports, other kids wouldn't come close to bruising from the same thing. Some people can liter get a dizzy head or numb head/jaw and still get no bruising.
